Personalised plates - thoughts?

I got one to hide the age of the car plus it's now personalised to me.
I don't care what people think about it, if I did I'd be hiding in a boring golf trying to blend in with all the other sheep. :D

I'm a big fan of personalised plates on Zeds..

They (zeds) appear to age very well and like a nice girl who uses certain touches to disguise her age the pp render a timelesss quality to them!

I like them but have never bought one myself.

Mine came with P9 YEP from the previous seller. He reckoned he paid over a grand for it.

In two minds whether to keep it or not when I sell my car to put on my new one. Most really good plates are expensive.

I dont think i'd ever buy one myself - pretty sure there will always be something better to spend £300+ on, even if its just fuel!

though if i buy a car that happens to have one on already, then so be it. bought a porsche boxster recently and the plate is Pxxx BXR so seems appropriate enough.

I saw a 7 series on the A1 recently with the reg "P1ORN". I would love to know what he/she does for a living. :D

Hi I'm Mr. NALLY and i have N4LLY  (Payed £250 direct from DVLA in 1997)

Wish i had got N44LLY at the same time, i found it and offered £1000, they said no £7000
Makes me think my plate is worth more than the car :tumbleweed:

I think you get to a point in life where you go with what you like and aren’t overly concerned with what other people think.

I don't normally like white cars but yours just looks "right" - lovely looking car

Not that you care what I think
Ha Ha, Thanks Swampy. I'm good at taking on board compliments. It's a skill.

I like them.
Mine is 04-ZED4.

In the state I live in they don’t require a plate on the front of the car...much nicer IMO.

On my older Ducatis I had 72-DUC (I once had a car full of teenagers pull up behind me in a pull off and asked me “Sir is that a 1972 Ducati?” Must have been a bet...?) on my 1980 900 Supersport I had BEVEL, older Ducatis had a series of bevel gears actuating the overhead valves vs belts. They no longer wear those plates as I now have antique plates on them. Advantage is that you buy the antique plate once and you pay once, no yearly fee as with normal plates.

Some of them are very good. I remember seeing a Land Rover type vehicle with dog / hunting (BASC) stickers on it, and the number plate was AND 51T. If you're old enough to remember, it was the catchphrase of 70s / 80s TV personality Barbara Woodhouse who used to terrify dogs into good behaviour.
