Personalised plates - thoughts?

Some of them are very good. I remember seeing a Land Rover type vehicle with dog / hunting (BASC) stickers on it, and the number plate was AND 51T. If you're old enough to remember, it was the catchphrase of 70s / 80s TV personality Barbara Woodhouse who used to terrify dogs into good behaviour.
There was a Chanel van I used to see around the West End of London in the '80s with "No 5"
And an '80s Aston Martin with "V8".
British Oxygen had a lorry with "BOC 1" that was cool.

Jimmy Tarbuck's Silver Shadow had COM1C. (For some reason).

Steve "Boring" Davis had SD 147 on his Porsche 928. 147 being the maximum break, which he achieved a few times.

I really don't have a problem with them, especially if they have a special meaning to the owner.

Here’s a couple of ours together.

Never really appealed to me but I would be willing to maybe spend £200 or so, too much more than that is just pissing away money imo :idunno:

Being born in 64 and having a 64-plate Z, I found a plate that suits me pretty well.
Then the missus got her 53-plate E85 and we followed the same theme for her.
(Though she wasn't born in 53!!! Phew, think I got away with it.)

So does Sue like her number plate

When I picked up my Zed my Father in law surprised me with a personalised plate - I actually quite like the normal one it just seems to be a decent combination - but I too will be rocking the personalised plate when the V5 comes through

I like mine;

A short story bout PP's. Afew years ago i knew a local irish landlord, Patrick Mclochlin and his plate was PMC 1. Well out of the blue one day he got a call from non other than PAUL McCARTNEY's office offering him £500,000 for it :o See If you can guess what he said?

Cheers, tug

He held on to it hoping that he would get a call from Padre McCarthy. Am I right?

Let it be?

Ha ha, No he told him to F@CK OFF!! as he couldn't stand scousers. It wouldn't have bothered me if i liked him or not for half a million he could have had the car as well.

I’d always fancied one but it seemed like vanity to me. Then I reasoned that I never indulge (or have any interest) in personal items such as male jewellery or high end wrist watches, so I went ahead and splashed out around £600 on a nice plate (X3 + my initials).

It’s been with me on 10 cars now and I feel very comfortable with it :D

I've had mine on every car since I was 18. Was a present from mother as my nickname at school was Melmo. Shame M3 LMO was way out of her budget
