People gawping makes me feel wierd! Do you get this?

Driving along the other day behind four young lads in a 206. They pull over, and the lights change so I am now alongside them, I don't hear it but my passenger translates for me. Apparently they said "You're too young to drive that!".

Thing is, I'm 33. But then I have always looked quite young and have always put my money in cars, so I guess I don't even hear these things anymore.

My girlfriends first impressions of me when we were introduced was "rich little daddies boy" because she knew what car I drove!

I'm 26 but look 18-21, so I imagine most people think my parents bought my car :(

I dont get any looks with the roof up, but with it down, I feel like I'm on parade with my white seats. I'm good looking as well  so I get loads of glances from ladies hehe.

Kids love the car and put their thumbs up. A van man once called me a :wkr: at a roundabout so I just blew a kiss at him as I pulled off. Heart was beating fast though!

I once took my grandma for a drive with the roof down when I first got it. That was funny looking at everyones reactions :D

Got good comments all the time when I had my 3.0si, same now I have the 35i! Don't mind at all, but I am egocentric!! :P As long as people stick to just comments!

Yep i get it all the time. I've noticed i can't go down a road without someone looking at it! I've had loads of comments too.

It's a stunning car though and there aren't a lot around.

that's because they're all in ruddy Nottingham.
I was out last night, and passed two parked up, one going the other way, and passed on on the dual carraigeway :headbang:

still, it's a fantastic looking car :)

last night i drove past a small garage, 2 mechanics were stood outsde chatting, i'm not 1 for attention or to show off, but it felt good to see them both turn their heads as i drove past, i sneaked a look through my wing mirror and they were still stairing lol

The day i bought my 3.0 i was driving back to a friends place and had 3 people comment while i was driving (1st ever drive of the car).... i must say i was a bit shocked and pleasantly surprised. since then i have moved to a smaller town, where i think i have the only z4 convertible (that i know of), and it draws more attention then ever, every time i drive it there is people starring and yelling out comments.

my old ride was a modded skyline, with body kits pearl paint big rims and exhaust, and it never turned any heads in comparison, well except those in cars with sirens. so needless to say i was a bit overwhelmed feeling like everyone is watching you when you drive but now i rather enjoy it, if people wanna look i can handle it, and i cant say it hurts the love life either.

My former roadster ( 356 replica ) as well as my Z attract attention. The gawping does not bother me at all. I actually enjoy talking to folks about my cars. And it's not an ego thing either. If I see someone looking my way I'll just say 'hi nice day isn't it'. That will put the person looking at ease. And being friendly to someone looking at your BMW can help dispense with the public's perception of the "typical" stuck up nose in the air BMW/Porsche owner.

Cheers
Jerry

I often look after a friend's dog (can't get my own yet... rented house ) and take him out for long walks... it's brilliant watching people's face when a shiny sports car pulls up, the door opens, they expect a shapely leg to extend... and instead a mental border collie bounds out :D

(don't worry, I protect the seats before letting him anywhere near! He's brilliant in the car, just curls up on the seat and waits until we get where we're going and I open the door for him!)

Careful with the Border Collie, they're so smart if you you don't look out it'll swipe the car and go joyriding.... :D :D

Had my Z for over 2 years now and get loads of comments both from people I know and strangers. A local girl said it was her dream car and wanted to get one when she is older. One time a guy gave me a lift in his 360 F1 Spider during lunch time at work, after which the HR director commented that she actually prefers my Z. I wouldn't agree with her myself as I would prefer his 360 but just goes to show what people think of the design.
