Just got 11.8k of my new 35imsport arriving sometime in June new model well happy :D

11.8K blimey thats good going, was that on a PCP? be interested on the details, I've been contemplating when I do change going for the M135i as they start at 29K, a bargain compared to my current Zed but if there was a chance of a heavy discount for a Z4 35i I would rather stick with the Zed :)

Tim.

Just noticed that deal is finished deposit contribution is now gone they did tell me they were suprised that the deal was still going on the new model and I would need to get my deposit down and an order in by the end of March to get the deal I think I was very lucky and got a cracking deal. :D :D

I'm sure for many the 1.8 will be their dream zed, and it will still have the spanking 4cyl turbo.

Come on a bloated MX5 get real please.

It's a shame people do down anything less than the 3.0 on this forum. It's supposed to be a Zed community. :x

Well said

To be fair, the forum header is titled:
Specific discussion about the E89 2009 Z4 (sDrive35is, sDrive35i, sDrive30i, sDrive23i)

Sorry, I'll get my coat
:poke:

I was looking at a 1.8i today in sopers while my M3 was in for a service, it was white with red leather & I think they are such a good looking car & I had the opportunity to drink in the details & it's a mighty fine machine & I thought of you lot that own a E89 & thought what a great choice you had made

Not sure I'd go for the 1.8i but I was just looking at the car overall. :)

I just bought a sdrive18i...stop slating it!! :o

If im completely honest, I would have preferred a 35i but firstly, I can't afford it and second, the insurance would be ridiculous.

The reason I went for the 18i is because of insurance. I am 23 and I am getting refusals or quotes in excess of £2000 for the sdrive20i so my only choice was the sdrive18i (insrance of £900 somehow!)

Delivery end of June..cant wait!

I've never bought new or financed a car but I took advantage of the 2.9% deal. The OTR price is £33500 (m sport with confort pack and 19 inch alloys) and I got a dealer contribution of £7500.

So essentially £26k for a new z4 with £2k options. Decent deal or should I have squeezed them for more??

Good news  I have always said the 1.8i is the pick of the range! :poke:

Roll on the end of June then & sounds like you got a cracking deal to me, don't forget to post some piccies when you get it & welcome to the forum :D

Thanks mate..will post pics once it arrives.

If I had known Sopers Bmw had the white with red leather I would have tried to get it off them as it sounds like the same spec as the one I have ordered.

O well, just over a month to wait...hopefully the weather is better then :)

Congrats it will be a cracker of a car and nice BMW are catering for more affordable Zeds, as you said not all can afford the larger engined running costs and frankly alot of the time isn't needed.

Tim.

Engine snobbery is silly, though an orange Z4 is not my thing! Would be nice to see at a show though, with the right mods.

Everything is opinion though right - as much as they have a right to share it, you have a right to ignore it :P

Engine snobs seem to be in all capacities each trying to justify their choice!
Just enjoy what you've got. :D

If they did a 1.4 that is the one the Mrs would buy. The roadholding is important, the roller skaty responsiveness, yes, but acceleration has no appeal in comparison to running costs as a factor. Pity really because I would be perfectly happy for her to run a nippy version. Though I don't think I would have bought anything beyond 2.0 either.

Congrats on the 1.8, that is one hell of a car at your age. I had a vauxhall chevette when I was 25 :(

HOw do you gethose deals.. PM me please if you have the key to getting the price down... A 35is would be lovely as my next car. Have the 23i for 12 month nmow and ready to trade up.

I didn't take out finance and still managed to get £8k off on a cash deal. I just told them what i was willing to pay and stuck to it. Walk away and wait for them to chase you. When they rang me I just said my offer still stands you can take a deposit from my debit card now, but they declined. I informed them that was all the money I had for the car and required the spec I had chosen if it was to go ahead. 10 minutes later they rang back for my card details :)
The other thing you can do is ask if they have any second hand. If they have say you are not keen on the spec. Then ask them as a matter of interest what it would cost to get you in a new one. They will try harder on price to sell new rather than second hand.
Never sound too keen and work out your spec before you even visit the dealer.

Sound advice! Also worth remembering to keep your poker face on and not let the salesman become your pal :)

Not sure I agree with that 100%, if you know what your doing and so do they you can be "thier pay" and cut out a lot of the crap.

My adivce be upfront and tell them what you want and what you want to pay. Ask them directly if they can do a deal at that price, if they say no ask them to confirm it with the Sales Director / Transaction Manager etc. If they cannot do the deal walk and wait for them to call you.
