From ETK.cc it looks like if you've got high-level tweeters in the wing mirror mount covers then you've got advanced or professional stereo.

Hadn't spotted those, so that's 8. I do remember the dealer said it might be a professional stereo.

Manual shift instead DCT on my my 35i, but I am on the wrong continent for that option.

If I where to buy an E89, that would for me be the reason to buy a 35i over a 35iS

Sorry guys but must disagree. The DCT is quicker and smoother change and if you want to play then use the paddles in manual. Best of both worlds

If you have subs behind the seats you've got to have at least got the HiFi or advanced speakers. If you have a centre mid-speaker then you've got a professional speakers.

It's not the same. There is a reason why a lot of car reviewers emphasize this.
A 4wd car will also be quicker in a lot of situations.
It's about the experience and about getting it just right. Not how fast it is. And just pushing a button/paddle is not that exciting imho...
The less computers take out of your hands, the more you can do yourself. And that is what driving (certainly a sportscar) is all about for me.
If I don't want to do anything myself.... I take the train.

Flappy paddles good enough for F1 then they're good enough for me

It's a dogbox with a shift drum. Technically its like a motorcycle gearbox (or ralleycars, they have almost the same setup).
And yes, they have a clutch...
So it's not 'the same'

I agree and when I was looking to buy my M3 most were DCT but I wanted the manual even though its slower because I just appreciate the extra involvement and flappy paddles just don't do it for me, the DCT is an excellent gearbox but takes away some of the enjoyment but pleased the M3 was offered with both.

The 35iS is my favourite E89 and I wish it was offered with a manual.

I thought the only time the clutch was used on an F1 car was when they pulled away from a standstill. Besides that one paddle for down, one paddle for up... just like the DTC.
