Optional extra you wish you had...

I have no idea what was standard and what was extra, but I have:
Folding mirrors
Heated seats
CD multi changer
Rain sensing windscreen wipers
Remote roof down option from key fob
Memory seats (probably the best option as Mrs R sets-up very differently from me)

Haven't got:
Sat nav (by most accounts no sad loss)
Cruise control (might be nice but don't do much driving on cruise controlling roads)

A heated steering wheel would be nice, but I don't think it was an option.

Which leaves aero side-skirts as just about the only thing I can think of.

I guess that I'm a lucky boy!

Extended nappa leather would be v nice and comfort access would then have all options ticked but they're daft money, you have to stop somewhere, and I've spent waaaaaay too much on the thing as it is..

Manual shift instead DCT on my my 35i, but I am on the wrong continent for that option.

Problem with comfort access is once you've had a car with it installed it's a 'must have' option on every car after that. I can't count the number of times I ended up looking very confused at my house mates's Golf going "WTF?" after trying to open the door 2 or 3 times by the door handle before using the remote

Every time I use the wife's car I have this problem :D.

Can someone clarify re the Professional Speaker system, im not sure whether it came with my 2nd hand 35is, dealer wasnt clear and said it didnt.

Im not sure as ive read that the basic system is poor, however the one in my 35is isnt bad at all (not that im a massive sound effecianado).

I have 5 speakers, large centre speaker on dashboard behind idrive display, one smallish speaker in each door and one speaker in each door pillar (ear hight).

How many speakers does the basic and professional system have, does the professional system have subwoofers behind seats?

Have I got basic, advanced of professional.

Thanks in anticipation.

19" wheels (OK, easy to fix) and a much better audio system.

Unavailable but I wish I had it: much more internal storage for bits and bobs, the door pockets and armrest storage box are pitifully small :-(

That sounds like the standard setup. The speaker in the dash is just a grill, nothing behind it on the standard system. You're best running your VIN through a VIN checker.

Thanks, im surprised then as its pretty good, id be deaf if I had a louder system, that said I cant hear it very well at 70mph with the roof down.

The exhaust soundtrack is so adictive I find myself quite content without any music playing.

At least folding mirrors you won't lose the glass as they are always the chromatic type ...

Have you got speakers in the rear cabin bulkhead & just bellow the seat belt reel?
I've got those with the cheapest of the speaker upgrade options.

14 speakers in the pro system :D

Bluetooth, because the seating position doesn't lend itself to getting a phone out of my overtight jeans pocket.

USB connectivity. Until I got the Zed I'd forgotten the horrors of loading and unloading disks, juggling jewel cases and flipping through CD wallets, all the while steering with my knees at 70 mph.

Personally I'd prefer 5 great speakers & a decent amp than 14 mediocre speakers & no amp ;)
Me too.

But if I have to have a s**t amp and s**t speakers I want lots of them ;)

Just checked, I have 6 speakers then. left and right:

footwell
door
cabin bulkhead & just bellow the seat belt reel

Is that the 'Advanced' speaker system or an upgrade in between systems?

Is it Standard > Advanced > Professsional

From ETK.cc it looks like if you've got high-level tweeters in the wing mirror mount covers then you've got advanced or professional stereo.

If I where to buy an E89, that would for me be the reason to buy a 35i over a 35iS
