Back down to 17 now Paul as I have to drop out. :( I've had a bad back all week that I've been hoping would get better but 500 miles in the Zed tomorrow just doesn't appeal. Hope you all have a great day.

Sorry you couldn't make it Matt, would have been good to see you again....and you would have gotten to meet my Wife, as she rasrely comes to the meets(doesn't make a good passenger, lol).
Anyway, hope your backs feeling better soon mate.

Thanks to Paul n Steph for organising what was a very chilled out and enjoyable run. While it was a pity we didn't get some quicker runs at times,on some of the roads, it was nice to get time to take it in the scenery a bit more than usual and as a result didn't feel as tired by the end of it, due to not having to concentrate as hard, haha.

As always, great to meet and catchup with friends new and old, as its always good to see new faces on these runs...keeps the forum/runs fresh.
Also enjoyed catching up with John and Pauline on the Saturday night in Felton for a tasty dinner and a few drinks.
Until the Wales meet, mate :D :driving:

Had a good blast towards the end of the Run, which was needed after getting stuck behind a fiesta and a ford c-max for too long, ha-ha, as well as the blast home, after taking a wee back road or 2 when leaving/heading for the A1,which was very enjoyable.
And then seeing Angus/Toeslide blasting by me as If I was standing still (was doing 70+/**mph), lol, on th A1, before having to stop for Fuel and then seeing Andrewp and Jack/Jacqui in my rearview mirror, before going our separate ways further on.

All in all, a great weekend/drive out and even my Wife*** enjoyed it, as she doesn't normally make a good passeneger when I am driving in a spirited manner :P

***Now at least Jax cant say they have never met my lovely Wife :D

Thanks Craig. Gutted to have missed catching up with you all again but the Zed is a very unforgiving car when you have a sore lower back. I even experimented with various cushions but it wasn't going to work. Looking forward to the next one.

OK here's some pics from us - having some upload problems so quality seems to have degraded loads and spent 10 hours over night unsuccessfully trying to upload a video - will try that again another night. I've included a few from Newcastle itself as it was looking so good !

Another few seem to have dropped off including group shot but they are already here !

Thanks Jack, nice to see some shots on the road. Newcastle quayside looking really good on your photos.

It does seem a long winded job down-loading videos - Swiftly is sending me a link for video editing as I've got quite a few from earlier runs I want to sort out.

Do try and post up your video if possible - would like to see it.

Like your 'local castle' too - nice location for a Zed image.

What a brilliant day we had. Sorry for not posting up yesterday, but I was so tired I literally fell asleep as I was talking on the way back, much to Tony's amusement :)

Really enjoyed seeing the area again, a very well organised run with a great selection of things to see, and good refuelling stops - loved the fish and chips and the Turkish Delight ice cream.

We are so lucky to be able to share our love of cars with a great bunch of people. Thanks so much to Paul and Steph for such brilliant organisation. It was great to catch up with everyone old and new, and good to finally get my zed on a run this year

Sorry it's taken so long to post, but here's a video from the day along with a note to myself for next time to make sure that I regularly check that the windscreen in front of the camera is clear of squashed flies

Hope you enjoy it :)

Well Nick, I think we've just found our Tom Scott!

Brilliant video (if you ever want another career go for TV producer or TV editor- great work!)

And then. . .

Delighted to see more photos - the one at Kirkharle is excellent and how did you get the shots I was trying for but failed - the one in front of Chillingham spot on too. Superb work - what camera is it? The resolution seems crisper than the one's I've posted.

Well worth going through the trouble of sorting the video (and pictures) Nick - we have a great collection between us now and that video is just perfect to remember the day.

Nice one! and thanks again for posting.

:driving:

Nick - absolutely fantastic video, captured the day perfectly. Thank you for all your hard work and for sharing.

Glad you enjoyed it Martin :D

From your previous comments about the Skye video I certainly had a lot to live to so I hope my choice of music ticked all the boxes :)

I am no photographer Paul, and don't profess to be one but thanks for the compliment. :D It is more down to luck on the day than any skills or judgement I may have. My camera is a cheap point and click Olympus with a 4 x wide optical zoom  but I do play around with the settings in an attempt to try and get the best results.

The video was my second attempt, the first edit was more polished, but the file got corrupted. :headbang: So I had to start all over again, at which point I realised that I had already lost over 3 hours of my life which I would never get back. I am pleased with the end result though, even though Youtube tried to throw a few technical gremlins into the works when trying to upload the video :x

All boxes ticked...and then some! The "car -park" 180 turn at The Jolly Fisherman is great...haven't stopped laughing at that one.

I hadn't noticed, had you, at just how many people actually waved and smiled at the convoy as we drove past the various locations, we seemed to make them happy

Glad you persevered Nick - great result and yes the music's a real bonus - you'll have to tell me what the track was behind the Bamburgh images - lovely.

There were lots of people that I thought might be put out but even the folk at Chillingham castle who were taking photos of the building - when I apologised and said they'd get a clear shot in a moment when we'd gone said that they liked the cars in front and were taking pictures of them!

The owner at the Old Stables came out to see the Zeds and was delighted as were the people in the office at Chillingham who thought the cars looked 'lovely'. Even the farmer who I had a word with and thanked at the Farm Dairy was friendly and had a big smile.

Yes the turn in the pub was a bit cheeky! Only way we could get in (and out) to see Craster harbour and Dunstanburgh castle on the coast ahead - hope some of you saw it!

(We had another two loops like that but we missed them out because of time issues - fun though - I had a load of high fives from the Zeds coming the other way at the golf club turn at Bamburgh!)

:driving:

The music is a 1989 hit called Roam by the B-52s

She fell asleep at the end of her own sentance - predicting a rather dreary reply maybe!

Anyway, back to the meet - really enjoyed meeting the old faces, saying hello to some newbies, and actually showing up in a Z4 this time, as it's always good reminding you roadster chaps what you're missing out on :poke:

Cheers to Paul and Steph - a very well organised meet, great parking spots picked out, and good choice of speed and timings. There's always one more good road to add in for the locals, and allowing those with further to drive home chance to say their goodbye's early is a great idea.

I'll try and add some photo's later, and try to avoid duplicating some that have been posted already.

Until next time chaps.

Great photos Tony -we're beginning to cover all the photo opportunities now - wonderful

AND. . . . .

EVERYONE CHECK OUT DUNSTANBURGH CASTLE IN THE BACKGROUND OF THE CRASTER LOOP (sorry to shout  )

It was one of the castle's I meant to ask everyone to look out for on that part of the run and forgot! That was the reason we did the loop!

More great shots - thanks Tony and thank you to you and Ruth for coming all that way.

:driving:

Fantastic video swiftly, really enjoyed watching it and listening to the music you selected, first class

I am impressed with the quality of the photographs that you managed to take with just a cheap camera. I have an expensive camera and I struggle to take photographs of that quality, so don't put yourself down!

I knew I should have put my name down and come along on Sunday, always next year I guess

A well done to Paul and Steph for getting so many members to come along, impressive

Thanks for the kind comments Brian :D

Would have been great if you could have made it last Sunday I am sure you would have enjoyed yourself.

BTW I haven't seen you or your gorgeous zed around Edinburgh for a while, have you been hiding :P
