Thanks Mike, hope you're over your illness. Was great to have you and Shirley there and the lunch stop and section back from Hawick turned out brilliant.

Hope you looked at earlier posts and saw I'd added a few photos - not particularly good and mostly static but all I had.

See you Sunday!

Got to say a massive thank you for posting that up Dave1971 - I've had a great night watching it through - how lucky were we with traffic :o :o :o :o :D

What a brilliant keep-sake of that part of the run - fabulous!

Anyone want to know what they missed take a look at 7.45mins in for a few minutes - marvellous - shame the road wasn't a little wider and with clearer sight lines but even so with no traffic that has to be a loop we go back to and run again next year - definitely!

Thanks again Dave1971 - really enjoyed watching that and re-living it. Magic!

Am interested in seeing black 108s thought about doing this myself. Just time, and money is not on my side at the min lol

OK - taking Paul's advice, we thought we booked Saturday night at the Copthorne Newcastle but Travel Republic just informed that the deal was unavailable and it would cost another £50 so bump that - we'll go somewhere else. Still happy to meet should anyone fancy a beer !

If you do have the time, take a walk out the hotel and east back towards the bridges, along the riverside past the 'Swing bridge' under the iconic Tyne Bridge and on to the new Millenium bridge - lit up at night and lovely. Some very old buildings along the first section and then redeveloped around the Millenium Bridge. As I mentioned, a great view from the Sage Building (silver snail) on the other side of the Tyne (you can get to it over the Millenium Bridge) and coffee and meals available (friends reported good food there but we've never ate there so can't judge). A nice walk would take half an hour to 40 mins there and back. if you're up early enough, just over the Millenium bridge is the Baltic Centre for contemporary art - art gallery in an old flour mill. It's massive - go up in the lift and get a brilliant view of the city from their viewing platform. Not sure if the art will be worth a visit (sometimes is, sometimes ??) They also have a restaurant.

Would join you for a drink but we've family staying this weekend (a relative in hospital so lots of them up at the minute).

:driving:

No probs but see my updated post - not now in copthorne but will see bridges etc.

Hi All,

I've sent everyone a pm with my mobile phone number and an outline of the route.

We'll be giving everyone a route sheet on the day and there will be a drivers briefing before we set off.

Do let me know if you are not coming (don't want to be hanging about waiting) a text will do.

Do get in touch if you've got any queries or questions.

Watching the weather with interest and looking forward to seeing you all.

:driving:

Room for a small one?

In the Z this time honest. It's just passed MOT with no advisories :)

Well I never - it would be lovely to see you . . . .now 18!

Congratulations on the MOT (it's the magic you performed on the electrics  )

Paul, looking like good numbers indeed. I had a leaking diff on my M which my BMW Specialist noticed when it was in for the purpose of getting the engine undertray replaced, that had somehow got damaged on the National run :?
Anyway, decided to leave the undertray for now as its only cosmetic damage to it, and seeing as the dif seal was going to necessitate new dif oil and a few hours labour...all fixed now though and will see you at the meet-point with my lovely wife in the passenger seat (glad its a more civilised run, lol) :driving:

Hiya Craig!

Good to hear from you and glad to hear you're bringing your wife - it will be lovely to meet Mrs craig3.2! :D

Engine under tray - lucky it wasn't anything more. . . :o  Good to hear you're keeping on top of that lovely //M though.

Glad you're expecting the run to be a 'tour' rather than a 'hoon'. (We had a brilliant run last week on the Howick loop - you'd have loved it.)

Anyway - see you Sunday!

:driving:
