I want to see it driving now!! I have seen the other video

Still very impressed with what you doing hear.
Once I get the rear axle fitted I can complete the prop as I've only modified the front section. This will finish of the drive train and finally able to roll under its own steam. Talking about rolling I've a E46 M3 in for brakes on genuine CLS'S. what's surprised me is how heavy they are. Checked them against my E90 M3 19's and 2.3kgs heavier and rears even more. I was hoping they would be something special considering how much they go for. :(
I'll be sticking with lighter wheel as you don't realise what a difference they make to the steering and shock absorber control.

Looks a cracking install, and well done for getting it up and running. Great work
Look forward to seeing it on the move

Sounds like your close but there is still so much to do!! It would appear your very handy with tools and have all the right gear. But when i did my diff and rear axle refresh last year. It all takes longer than you think life gets in the way. And then you realize you need this or that!! I hope i get to see and hear this car at some point..

As for the wheels keep the e90 wheels defiantly. For no other reason than they look great on a z4. I had reps on mine for a while before i got my genuine e46 wheels. Also every man and his dog has csls. What do the e90 wheels weigh??

More pictures please Steve as you progress.

Here are a couple of items from the stealers.c213de554fd871a011b5cb54bb0d20dd_zps666f9a30.jpga97d4e8857ca8e084ccab80fa32656e1_zps0a3f9fae.jpg
The new front and rear grills are ready for collection, I'll post up pics when here. As for the rear end, once I've refurb'd items I'll pop up pics prior to installation.
When the rear end is dismantled I'll clean the underside and then I'm spraying it with U-POL Raptor liner as its great for protection and sound deadening. I feel because the rear exhaust boxes are fairly small there could be soon boom thru the floor pan.e80c44a54de09af22757f29045d90af5_zps61c1ebd4.jpg

How much you pay the ///M front Steve?
Great progress btw
Discounted to £465 inc the dreaded vat, lower mesh £45. Think they are very interested in the project :D

My local BM dealer are the same. Every time i park up i get at least 1 salesman asking about my car!!

I am just waiting for the day i get told to get off the grounds!!!

Seems I'm on first name terms with the stealers now. Couple of items I picked up 1ab9c8f4bbcde48aa1da5c628e0f9eb6_zpsdf1ad0f7.jpg
I should just order on line as I'm forever thinking of something else I'd like to buy :( Like a rear white brake light, here on Friday

Are Cotswolds not a sponsor on here? Normally they are reasonably priced and will respond to forum threads with pricing and a quote number. You just need to give them a bell to order and have it shipped to your door.

I feel I'm getting a pretty good discount as I'm trade and they're interested in the project, lets hope it continues :D
So today I started to what I thought would be fairly straight forward, Mmmm no! Pulling the panels from the shell has been very time consuming and a learning curve to how BMW attach panels. Think I'll become a BMW specialist once I've completed this project :P
Here's some pics of a rather sad looking Z4 :( 944a14f2aa7ba9c554fd7df42f0bada1_zps819c917f.jpg2271b7a1853f96bead6546e4c574a014_zps47675398.jpg
The new Z4M bumper casing normally have brake ducts that sit behind the casing. I don't need them so I've started to fit stainless steel mesh that I've bonded to them and once painted should be very discrete.756baa300c31f89b2c581b63ba60c765_zpsae40bc53.jpg
Once the first side is set I'll finish the other and then it'll be ready for paint shop. What my plan is to have all the panels sprayed off the shell as this will have all the check area's painted. The bonnet and boot will also be painted on the underside to give a cleaner look.

Whats the Raptor liner stuff Steve ?
They use it to spray pickup beds as its very tough, but it works great as underbody protection and has great sound deadening properties. My exhaust could be boomy once on the road so thought best to try and keep it as quiet as possible. Who the Fook am I kidding :(

Maybe silent coat the boot area whilst its in bits ?

Gotta help..
Did a google and found your silent cote product so ordered 8 1/2 sq feet to cover the boot floor. Every little bit helps :D

Just been figuring out what the gearing will be on the Z4 once completed. Running the E92 M3 6speed and E46 M3 rear diff and 19" wheels on 265/30/19 tyres, the speed in each gear at 8500rpm are. 1st 43.51mph, 2nd 74.48 mph, 3rd 111.54 mph, 4th 148.03 mph, 5th 176.45 mph and 6th 202.35 mph. Quite sobering facts considering its in a Z4 :o

I always thought it was going to be slightly under powered ;).

You might need some aero work to keep it on the ground

Double up on the sound insulation stuff - presume it's that heavy stuff 8)

Just when ya think you've bought the top o' the range model, someone comes along and p*sses on ya chips :(
Haha this looks amazing and that engine looks like a skull with 2 horns coming out either side, I can't wait to see this bad boy giving it the beans. Well done m8 and keep it up

I'm not sure I understand this one: you mean to say that coating the backbox with bedliner would make it more silent? In what way then: less vibration or actually more silence due to more insulation on the outside? Never heard that before, interesting.
