Whats the Raptor liner stuff Steve ?
They use it to spray pickup beds as its very tough, but it works great as underbody protection and has great sound deadening properties. My exhaust could be boomy once on the road so thought best to try and keep it as quiet as possible. Who the Fook am I kidding :(

I'm not sure I understand this one: you mean to say that coating the backbox with bedliner would make it more silent? In what way then: less vibration or actually more silence due to more insulation on the outside? Never heard that before, interesting.
No the underbody will be sprayed when the axle's removed. It'll be similar to underseal.

Some nice figures those, 200mph would be nice even if it is only a theoretical figure.
Yeh theoretically it could see 200mph, but sure ain't going to be trying. When its mapped the rev limit can be taken to 9200rpm which would then be 207mph, but I'll be leaving at 8500rpm.

An M5 can see 200mph,no reason this wont...
I've watch vids on you tube and your right they can push 200mph also nearly 500kgs heavier than my project. I know it'll get there a lot quicker, especially when mapped to around 560/580 bhp. It's more how stable it'll feel around those speeds, sure they weren't designed to achieve anything close to that.

The M5 will defo nudge 200mph.

I think a Z4 going that fast will scare the bejesus out of most.... Get it to Bruntingthorpe and see how it does.

Will meet you there.........

Me too...and I'll even bring some equipment from work in case I need to put you back together :P

Just wondering what BMW events are on this year? I'm trying to organise my diary/hols so that I have a goal to aim for. Hopefully it'll give me the incentive to push on with my project and get it on the road.

Stevie.w are you running the S85 DME, if so do you know what pin is for cruise control?
Hi. I'm running a Tornado2 standalone that controls all standard sensors minus maf. My problem I have is rpm signal from ECU to chassis loom not talking to each other. Rpm triggers so many things on the Z4.

You've got a month to complete Stevie.
Sunday May 3rd 2015 Duxford Spring car show.
Definitely won't be making this date, still way to many areas to finish. At present its without any body panels as their all being painted. Also I'm just about to swap over complete rear axle, so I'll post up some pics once removed and some before and after.
I've booked for the Silverstone classic with some friends and wondering if there's any BMW clubs taking part?

I haven't booked my ticket for Silverstone yet. As every year i do and something terrible happens and i cant make it

But i will hopefully be able to make it this year and see this beast. Pictures Stevie you know the rules :poke:

I'll need to post up some pics as I haven't been idle all this time! Just seems customers are queuing up oot side ma door
The Z4 looks well strange without its clothes on, sure I'd get very strange looks if driven on the road. I've been having all the body panels painted individually as this allows all the checks covered. What I've found and want to keep to myself is Phil the painter, Wow can he paint !!! Shocked how stunning these panels have come out, they look like glass. Here now lies my quandary, when fitted I'm pretty sure they could be show quality. Yeh obviously I'm delighted but I normally build my cars to be driven and hard. When finished I'll probably want to tuck it in a carcoon and just sit and look at it thru its plastic windows. :headbang:

I hope you members aren't easily shocked! I promise you I will rebuild her :) 0e71bd84b55de16e7ecb2cafc7ea7f1e_zpslelq2rlo.jpg20fe9aa008b54e6935a158c146f9e83d_zpstpmy7gdi.jpg095c05337638af8fbf260a64e3619d6a_zpsafihameu.jpg
As you'll probably see there's masses to do to even see it driving.
I'll post up more pics when I've managed to sort out photo issue.
