. So now she has her own vert to enjoy! Although im sure il be finding excuses to take her car for a drive aswell. Its a little beauty the Z4. My sister used to have a Z3 which i used to drive quite often, but she sold it this summer, tried to get the Mrs to take the Z3 but she was insistent on a 4. The Z4 feels much more sporty than the 6 which is a big heavy cruiser but goes like stink when you press the loud peddal to the floor!Samz42.5 said:Well im off in an hour to go and pick up the Z! Its always exciting going to pick up a car, even though its for the Mrs its still no exception. If the nice weather keeps up tomorrow il be giving it a full detail and taking some snaps before and after to share with you guys.

I spoke too soon about the alarm. Still going off so had to lock the doors with the key. Will let the dealer know about that aswell when he comes to pick up the car tomorrow.
Is that the bonnet push switch near the top?mr wilks said:Samz42.5 said:Ah thanks. Il be getting another badge then lol.

Have you tried disconnecting the alarm sensor under bonnet ?

Ha! Did it and no more false alarms! Thanks Mr Wilks! I Should have thought of that. Had the same issue on the 1er a couple of years ago. Il mention the bonnet switch to the dealer and see if he will replace it. Its not an expensive part so not too fussed. The 6er when i bought it, the trader was using it on a daily basis so never had any problems with that plus i find any excuse to get out in it lolmr wilks said:Yep ,just disconnects , known issues with false alarms from that .
If the car has also been stood a long time before you bought it id also give it a decent trickle charge as low charge can often play games with electronics ( you should know that if you own a 6er)
. I guess the engine light may be due to a low battery, think its probably best to let him take it away and get it sorted before i start faffing around with it. The oil level has been good since it topped it up and no evidence of leaks so thats good news!Hi Paddy. EML light hasnt come onpaddy wright said:The EML might be due to the air intake boot having a crack in the smaller linking pipe- common problem on z3, 3 series and z4. Love the 6 and 1!
