New TopGear tonight 8pm BBC2

As per what others have said, a much better show this week, why didn't they kick start the new era with this episode?

That 675LT is car porn, I want one.

Notice they didn't advise how much the 675LT costs.......possibly edited due to Mr Evans purchasing one.

Loved the fact Jenson looked like he was just out for a wee drive to the shops.

If that had been the first episode, it wouldn't have been slated like last week, clearly someone had taken the shouty comments about last week onboard as per the opening comments from Mr Evans.

It was a great feature ruined by CE , , wasn't the price mentioned at £250k :? closely followed by CE grinning like a village idiot at the news he'd bought one , at which point hit the remote
JB would have been a great host with Guy Martin as stooge , both capable & more importantly likeable

Better this week. If they muzzle and straight-jacket Chris Evans to that hospital bed they might have something.

Much less Evans shouting, much better episode this week. Can't wait to see what the say about the Model X next week.

The new Top Gear is a hit. OFFICIALLY. 23% audience share. 12% MORE than the opening episode of the last series. These are the FACTS

Top Gear audience grew throughout the hour. FACT. Won its slot. FACT. Still number one on iPlayer. FACT. These are THE FACTS folks.
Well he's not shouting about audience share today...

According to the BBC, audience share for the second episode was well down on the first episode, it got a 14% share (23% last week) and was beaten by both The Antiques Roadshow and Soccer Aid. In actual numbers, last week TG averaged 4.4m viewers, this week 2.8m viewers...

Still confined Chris Harris and Rory Reid to the Extra Gear thogh - they should be in the main program and maybe we can have more than two features in one program. The guests bit drags on now, and the new track is pants.

..oh and they need to stop trying to copy the clarksonisms, and just create their own ideas.

Really enjoyed this week , JB and the other celebs really played their parts well . I actually don't mind Chris Evans and Le Blanc is settling in well . I try to think of this as a new car programme and not to compare the new hosts with the last hosts . A  from me for this week .

From the comments it sounds like it was an improvement on last week then...

I'll watch it tomorrow evening and see what I think - it may be better anyway as I'll be able to FF the bits where CE is annoying (probably whenever he's on screen talking )

To be honest I'd be grinning like a village idiot if I bought one :D :D :D

It was better this week, I feel asleep last week which was a first.

Think it needs time to settle in. No doubt they will change a few things as they go along.

You wouldn't have so much fun out of the car though (apart from the totty that would be attracted by the size of your bank balance)...

...bet the McLaren forum is a lot less lively than here

I didn't like it much more than last week. I have been following Chris Harris for a few years, on drive then onto his own YT channel. Things were getting better and better. Then he announces he is going to be on Top Gear. I was like ohh yess this will actually be a good show, Chris is a good racing driving and along with Sabine this is going to be quality. But what happens? They demote him to some Top Gear Extra show on three? With a co-presenter who looks nervous and unnatural. And his segments are tiny. On his channel he would review a car properly, technical stuff, on the road, on the track, drifting for fun and some proper good analysis. On this weeks show he got 2 mins to point out some carbon fibre bits of a racing car he was going to race, but none of that was in the show. What a shame. Fire insufferable Chris Evans and replace with Chris Harris, and the show would improve overnight.

Well after a few people said E2 was better than E1 I thought I would give it a try tonight. Tosh didn't make the half way point before I switched over. Nothing on the other channels, but nothing was better than Evans

At least the TT is on now. :D

That would require the BBC being sensible... and spending less of the licence-payers money - hope you're all happy to be contributing towards the £250k Evans is spending on his new toy...
