Well I'd be surprised if they didn't. Audi TT and now the SLK (with 369 lb ft!!).

The recently announced 125d engine is 218bhp and 332 lb ft and probably BMW will never use anything bigger than a four pot, so that sounds just about right for the Z4.

Can see the logic, but I'm not convinced on oilburners as roadsters - remember Audi's first foray with the A4 convertible... that 'chug chug chug' sound when stationary in traffic. I know they've come a long way, but I would have thought hybrid rather than diesel is next step for premium roadsters - keep the diesel for saloons/tourings.

Would be interested to see the market take-up in Mercedes and Audi TT diesels - I would guess its a small market sector.

Yeah unlikely to ever see that happen for the R8, seeing that its production is due to end in 2 years time. The last time they played around with the diesel engine idea was 3 years ago, which was canned. Market research told them that no one really wanted a diesel sports car after all. :thumbsdown:

Expect electric / hybrids to be the new thing instead.

And they put the V10 Dieset in the Q7 and expec people to pay £90K for it!!! crazy world we live in!!

I'd like to drive the V10 Diesel in the Toerag though....

I looked at new bulbs, unless you spend some decent money on them they are not as bright as originals , I won't change mine unless they look as bright as brand new 3 series
