New Apple iPhone 4g?

My current iPhone 3G contract expired June 4th!!!!!!! Oh yeah its calling me... And im getting an iPad this weekend too.....

My iPhone 3G is also not under contract (just rolling on a month to month basis). Intend to upgrade to the 4 at the earliest opportunity. :D

I'll be pre-ordering and picking up at the apple store. I'll be sure to point and laugh at the people in line that didn't pre-order. (I was one of those for the 3G). I debated about picking up at the apple store, but being an apple fanboy I feel it is my duty to go to the apple store (plus neat experience), hopefully this time I get a cute bubbly chick (don't tell my gf) and not a seemingly gay guy. Well ok, he might not of been gay, but he was superly way too enthusiastic. Military training kept me from laughing at his exuberism.

I'm currently on a first gen iPhone... been holding off upgrading for a worth-while one and the 4 is definitely a winner :D
Not going to line up for it though, that's just a little bit much for me... will be pre-ordering from Orange. That is assuming they don't slap a ridiculous price tag on it.

Still on contract for a bit so will upgrade end of the year. Hopefully BMW will have a snap-in cradle for it for the Z4 then as I find my 3Gs one handy. That's assuming the iPhone 4g pairs OK with a BMW!! Should do as same operating system.

This latest iPhone is unbelievably epic. I will be one of the nerds waiting in line for this on launch day without a doubt.

How much will it be though? They are just getting more and more £££'s (My 3G 8GB was £340 18 months ago and still is!). The 3GS is £490 (and probably will stay the same...)

IPhone 4 = £??? Any Guesses?

the 3G is being discontinued... so I can see the 3GS becoming £340 and the new 4 being £490
I'll be getting it on contract though, so can probably expect closer to £200 and £35 a month I would imagine.

I'm sure I only paid £100 to go from the standard iPhone to the 3G on the £35 a month contract.

They did an upgrade deal from the 2G to 3G but then didnt allow it on the 3Gs, rumour is there will be an upgrade offer for existing iPhone contracts.

Come on....

being that they're available on nearly all networks now, it would make sense that networks would try to keep their current customers longer by offering deals.
Of course, it looks like the thing's going to sell just fine without any deals, so perhaps not :(

I have a year left on my 3GS 32gb on O2...

Really would like to move to Orange, and possibly an iP4... better coverage where I would use it most on Orange. O2 seems really poor!

Anyone know of a good tactic to swap network at this stage and pick up an iP4... selling 3GS might give me the cash to get the iP4 on a new Orange contract, but the contract payments even at min charge on the old O2 one would still be fairly significant and a waste of money if I'm not using it... hmmmmm

About time we got some 4G networks then to go with the phones now being branded 4G. I hope the video calling takes off now that Apple is supporting it. My wife & I had phones with 3 about 5 years ago and the video calls were good but not very reliable due to the network. I use MSN a lot now to chat to family on the webcam, so it would be good to see it take off at last. Was only a month or so I said to someone how few phones now seem to have front facing cameras as if video calling had been abandoned!

You're right - its the 'iPhone 4' isn't it? Doesn't stop the media etc calling it the 4G, and doesn't make Apple stop them from letting that go because they'll be quite happy for customers to think they're getting something better than 3G.

Just upgraded my 3GS to the latest OS (IOS4) - I'm a little lucky as my business partner has an apple development licence and now the OS is finished we can get it early.

New animations are very nice as are the multi tasking, digital zoom on the camera, single inbox for all email accounts, and you can also arrange your applications into folders to reduce the number of pages you need to scroll through.

Also, I'm not sure if anyone else had this gripe - my 3GS screen was always a little "yellow", the new OS and firmware seem to have fixed this - much brighter and whiter.

This'll hold me off until next year now - I would love the new iPhone 4, but as there isn't anymore storage I'm not going to cough up extra cash - though would love that new screen. Will wait until next years update!
