I like these controllers, they seem to be the way forward.
Am I right that Nest is a Google owned product? Will I get adverts for jumpers in my web browser this time of year??

Finally installed and working. Lots of trouble connecting devices. Mainly de to being the second set and existing devices on account. British Gas very helpful though and removed everything from my account and factory reset all devices. They are also pushing through an upgrade so I'm leaving alone for an hour or so before I start playing.
Piece of cake as my existing plate (Drayton controller) is the same as the hive, so undid the two small screws and swapped the over.
Removed the room stat and joined the two wires together and isolated the live with choc blocks which is then hidden by the new stat.
Easy job, less than 30 minutes I would say.

Got my Evohome kit installed now, the only challenge was to get it to communicate. After 3 factory resets it finally synched ok with the boiler controller and the individual radiator stats. I found on google that it was common to fail if the batteries were not 100% charged yet.
Obviously, the actual App and communication part was simple for me.
Looking good though, expensive, but flexible to control each room independently ( I did not do the kitchen and bathrooms as the valves are not compatible).

Paul - when I fitted my system I found some of the TRV bodies were a bit sticky. The remote stats couldn't turn them off properly, so had a couple of overheated rooms. Just purchased a few new bodies to swap in.

Although a different system to mine there was a lot to set up and fine tune. Also had a couple of incompatible TRV bodies. Some they had adapters, but they were a bit ugly, so they went too.
Not sure if you have it on your system but mine has temperature offset for the stats. Some rooms were hotter or colder than the set temperature. software allows it to be adjusted by +/- a few degrees. You may have something like that.
Anyway - have fun...

Sounds like mine where some radiators are in locations that fool the stat. I have some digital thermometers/remotes as part of the accessories and once the rooms have settled you can see if they are too high or low compared to the target temperature.
I also had to change the flow rates on some of the radiators given that since some were off at various times of day, too much water was 'leaking' through rads that previously were wide open, as they never got a fair share.
