Newcastle upon Tyne
That's from Newcastle upon Tyne - there and back. Having done the NC500 before over a leisurely 5 days, Steph and I are returning with a Forum group leaving today. Is it possible to enjoy the roads AND the views in a shorter visit?
Paulgs1000, Cherrym, Chezsherman, PorthoZ4 and AlienZed are heading out this morning to complete most (but not all) of the NC500.
Zed's all cleaned and prepped, maps and sat nav ready, meetings completed with all others involved AND the weather looks to be on side . . . we shall see. :D :driving:

I would love to do it again. the 1,200 miles need to get there and back though are not so much fun.

Are you staying at the same places, except the last hotel?

Enjoy and I hope the weather is as good

Have a great time Paul and let me know if you pass my way

Not sure how far you are going straight up before heading to the coast. You may even be past me already ? :D

In Fort William for the night after 291 miles.
The biggest problem is the weather! Brilliant blue sky and harsh sunlight! How are we going to cope?! Took lots of photos but all on my camera. It's like driving in the Mediterranean - blue skies and blue water - amazing.20160509_175847.jpg

Certainly better than the drizzly day we had there on Saturday!
Enjoy you're trip! :driving:

Had a high of 32 degrees here today I am told. You have got great weather for this and have timed it beautifully.

Very envious to say the least Paul. Hope you guys enjoy your trip which has been perfectly timed to coincide with some great weather. :driving:

Weather wasn't too bad on Saturday ,not as warm as today but happy we had it dry enough to have the roofs down all day practically, been a scorcher today though.

Just the thing to read as I'm having breakfast before going off to work!

Great photos and you seem to be lucky with the weather.

Could you (or someone) kindly mind explaining the route? Maybe on Google Maps? I've heard quite a lot about the NC500 but I'm not sure what the route is.

Allen was up early with some great pics of the Loch , looking forward to some reports & pics as not much of either RE the last visit :poke:

Did some of this last year and the visit to Achmelvich was the high point for me. Didn't do any of the east coast though.

H.

Thanks for the reply all - hope today's weather is as good. . .we shall see.
Been swamped by some all consuming family crisis since Christmas Craig, hence frustration at not organising runs - hopefully we'll have a clearer second half to the year but I doubt it. We'll get back to it when we can.
Fortunately we have had a break or two and already completed the NC this year and it was sensational. This run is as a result of Cherrym wishing to return to do most of the route. He's done it many times on his motorbikes - wanted to do it in the Zed and we said we'd join him then the midweekers joined in.
Will post a better account when we've finished.
Just had Alfa Scorcessi (forum member) call in
AlienZed B&B and should see him at breakfast. Last met on the Skye run.
