Just out of curiosity why is it such a bad idea to come in one car.. It's a fairly long drive from where were coming. Just seems daft to spend twice as much in fuel etc. Surely it's more of a laugh two in one car than been on your own???

I think the reason people were er perplexed was only one of you gets to drive. We all love driving our cars! Wouldn't even think of sharing. :driving:

Can see your point Aebous but think I might get bored with no-one to talk to in the car... On the other hand maybe I wouldn't. :? One way or another we will be there and thats all that matters

Hi Guys & Lucy

Just over 3 weeks to go now. Really looking forward to it. it's a 250+ mile trip from my place. Not driven this far in one hit for at least 30 years. :D
I'm a camping noob so could do with some help as to what to bring.
I've got in mind.

Tent
Sleeping Bag
Inflatable Bed
Chair

Do I need a stove?......I do like a cuppa at every opportunity.Or is there anywhere local, cafe etc.
What else should I be bringing?
TIA

Pump for the bed (but others may lend you a go with theirs), torch, ear plugs (won't speculate as to whom the phantom snorer will be this year) and a few tinnies and bbq stuff :)

True even on this run last year I wasn't really that bored with no one to talk to (or screaming in my ear). But then driving is my therapy/lifeblood.

On a sad note, it is very doubtfull I will be available for the run on Sunday. Turns out my fiance has something going on that day and she doesn't want to miss it. I'm hoping though that her event won't be until late evening which will allow us the full day.

Thanks for the help guys.

Cheers for that..........and I can guarantee that no one is gonna snore louder than me. I think that's the real reason Mrs jimbo1958 is staying at home to get 3 nights good sleep. :D

Small knife (or a large one)

S**T!!! No one mentioned bears in the woods. :D

Ok

I've now added

Tyre inflater + attachments
Torch
Snacks
Water
Stella Artois
5l Empty container as a nightime pisspot and drinking water container during the day. :D
BBQ stuff? Are we talking food or the BBQ itself......probably easier to get that down there?

We all chipped in about £5 for bbq food last yr,that myself,sk93,siftah,etc went and bought at local supermarket..and that will be the plan again this year

Aebous, hope u can make the full day on Sunday too :D :driving:

I'll let you know Craig.. I'll just say now though if we do just bring the one tent them it will probably be as big as two tents because we will have to fit all out kinky stuff in.. Our PVC outfits, hand cuffs, sex swing and everything ... :D

The main thing is u wil be there
2 cars would be good for an extra z4 attending, but,as Guiseley said, whatever suits u ,its your choice, and look forward to seeing u there ....Though,as Aebous mentioned,u will both enjoy it all the more if u are Driving (rather than pasngr) :) :driving:

I have just come back from the lakes, the drive over the hardknott and wrynose passes were excellent, not the sort of drive to do with a convoy of cars though

Cheers Craig........that sounds good to me.
Is there a local Chippy/shops nearby.

Tempted to sign up to this. I've never driven around the routes mentioned so would be a good practice run before Euro trip in August. Is there a maybe option for this one??

Anyone traveling from Scotland?

Yes,i am,so pm me if u want to meet up en-route.
If u can only make 1 day, then let me know(u will just miss some of the fun,not all of it). pm me if u want more info, cheers,Craig.

p,s,campsites are full (see post below)

BUMP...CAMPSITES NOW FULL...AT PRESENT.

As stated, both sites are now full, with a total of 20 spaces now booked; 6 at W/edge 14 at Little acres....
assuming all those that have said they wil be Camping,do so.
If that changes,i will update posts accordingly, cheers

On that note,i would appreciate that all those who's names are on the list WHO ARE CAMPING (other than those who i have taken deposits off,for w/edge),could verify 100%,BY PM,in the next 7DAYS,that they are still attending, and still want to Camp,so we dont turn away ppl wanting to camp, then have ppl not turning up,and end up with spare spaces at the time, thanks
And,can every1 who is camping, please bring the smallest tent they need(where possbl) ,i.e a 1 or 2man tent if ur on ur own ,or a 2/3/4man tent if sharing,SO WE CAN HAVE ENOUGH SPACES FOR EVERY1,And we dont have a large 4-6man tent with 1 person in it,lol, Thanks

Stiil hopefully get a few more numbers, for the Drives on each day, though numbers are looking ok :driving:

Any1 wanting more info,pm me,thanks :D

Yes,taz, the Hardknott pass is "PENCILED IN",and i think sammyz has a couple of possible routes planned..though we had no probs last time, with Buttertubs, even in a rainy spell(2 hrs over the whole weekend) :D

it will be a challenge getting so many cars over that pass, a convoy of 2 cars can be difficult when you meet oncoming traffic

I may not include the Hardknot pass as Taz says, very narrow in places and you always meet some t#t trying to get his caravan over it coming the other way. Will depend on the weather as well.

JUST A HEADS UP......
As mentioned in page1 of this post, and after a chat with (John) Sammyz,we have came up with some ideas for "awards".
This will very much be a bit of fun,and will be done around the time of the Sat. nt bbq.

Ideas for awards will be along these lines.....tho may be added to/altered slightly(in wording),betwn now and the meet.....

1.Best/Most novel mods/Originality
2. Best turned out/Shiniest Z4 (of the day)
3.Silliest item of clothing...be it a hat or whatever

Prizes will be some car cleaning products, etc, etc, that have been donated / bought at modest cost(by me)

So u can get modding/polishing ur cars in plenty time, lol :)

NOW ALSO GOING TO HAVE A RAFFLE...SEE BELOW

Well I'll loose on Shiniest. Can I count my steering wheel being on the correct side of the car as a mod?

Oh I'll get most Original Z4....I have bird/pheasant holes installed.

CJ will get best/most novel mods IMO.....calling it now.

On the flip side now apparently we'll be able to make both runs (provided I don't make her too sick on the first day).
