Technically no, Dyno's always read either Hub or Wheel HP, and back-calculate Crank HP /BHP by by applying a transmission loss factor.
UK dyno readouts always tend to be the converted BHP figure, as it's bigger so makes people feel happier
However, how have I missed this thread- this is a cracking project!! Nice one OP, looking forward to more updates as they come!! 8)
Actually nothing to add for this project, after two years the project completed. This summer I had 6 track day events and drove approximately 3000km… no major issues only minor adjustments. Plan for the winter, replace front callipers for brembo 4-pots (currently from e90 335i), front brake cooling, short quick steering rack… and main focus will be on interiorEd Doe said:B21 said:UK dynos normally read crank..

Do you have any more videos of it running? Any more photos of the install?
If it helps I'd have cut my losses and sold my M years back if that had been my mindset! Life's too short to worry about resale values, just do what makes you happy!! 8)DaveP said:What a fantastic project. This is where I'd love to take my E85, but the wider concern is that I'd be burying loads of money in a car that would never be worth very much. Although that assumes I'd ever want to sell it after I'd done the work...
Very fair. I buried £12k in a £3k R53 Mini track project over the course of 18mths before buying my first Z4, and I ultimately ruined it for doing the things I enjoy (roadtrips, country lanes etc.). I always have this nagging feeling that starting with a car that's closer to what I want would be better than making a car I enjoy more compromised.Ed Doe said:If it helps I'd have cut my losses and sold my M years back if that had been my mindset! I've been close to just selling the Z4 and buying an OG M2 on several occasions, but the thing that holds me back is the lack of convertible roof. If such thing as a convertible M2 existed, I wouldn't own a Z4. I've also looked at what would be required to get a 35iS to M2 levels of performance, and was concerned that I'd be ruining an OK car by forcing a square peg into a round hole.
