N54 swap

Awesome project! Out of curiosity, where are you located since you say you can have it street legal?
For the DME wiring, maybe you already know it, but check newtis.info and bimmercat.com, the first one has the repair instructions and wiring diagrams and the second one it's the online catalogue to se which parts are compatible with which model. It's what I used to gather infor for my swap (one a lot easier than yours, from M54B25 to M54B30).
Keep us updated!
I'm from Latvia. Yes, it will be road legal, I had to make a project to get a approval from authorities, bracket has been made by certified company. When the car will be ready I will have to pass government technical inspection, after that special a brake test on a track.

Job in progress

Very well done.
Can you write a "How to" swap engines one day?
Now this would be good!!

Buy new engine
Dump the old engine
… lots of magic and swearing
Results

Seriously though; swapping the block is probably the easiest bit. All the electronics and system communications is what scares me most in such an undertaking. Impressive stuff this

Dumping an engine in a hole like you say is the easy bit!! The wizardry that follows is big bit. I'd love one of these in mine. It would be an absolute riot to drive!!

Planning 400-420hp on crank, it will be enough

Is there an update on this one? I'm quite eager to see how it's turned out! :D
Finally no limp mode, test drove a few weeks ago, wheels were spinning through first and second gear.... crazy car. Still working on can-translator, but car is ready for certification and planned for end of next month. During the test got a ticket πŸ˜€
