Hi community,
Who has engine n54 swap experience to e85 3.0si?
I own 2008 bmw e85 3.0si and recently bought n54 engine with all coolers, fan,ecu and transmission. Mechanical part I will do my self but my main concern is electronic

Sorry for my bad English.

I’m not aware of anyone that has done it on here. Would love to hear how you get on!!!!

Engine with transmission swap doesn't looks difficult but to integrate n54 dme msd81 will be challenging. Right now I'm renewing o-rings and gaskets on new engine and swap planned for end of January.

Is the N52 broken?

Why would you want to swap them over?

You might be getting confused with the pre-facelift M54 engine (as I was), whereas the N54 is the twin-turbo engine engine out of the E89 35i/Si.

DOOH! Right, my bad

Two bigest problems with this project 1) right side engine bracket
2) integrate MSD81 to e85 body

first step done :)

Awesome project! Out of curiosity, where are you located since you say you can have it street legal?
For the DME wiring, maybe you already know it, but check newtis.info and bimmercat.com, the first one has the repair instructions and wiring diagrams and the second one it's the online catalogue to se which parts are compatible with which model. It's what I used to gather infor for my swap (one a lot easier than yours, from M54B25 to M54B30).
Keep us updated!
