Lightweight flywheels can improve acceleration a little bit, but also mean you get reduced engine braking benefit when you need to slow down.Z4M_CSL said:I have two questions:
Has anyone had experience of light weight Flywheels on here? Have read the blur and says that it improves acceleration.
Also about lightning the Z4M roadster. Many parts I have put on my Z4M have reduced the kerb weight but are there any others (E.G. replacement chairs etc...)?

Well, other than trim, carpets & seats, there's not a lot left in the Z4 to removeZ4M_CSL said:Have already reduced the weight some with of my mods. To CA-AUTO defence they have suggested a number of things but just thought I’d post the question as there might be a cheaper alternative than going the carbon route. TC-Kline in the US do a full carbon version for both the coupe and roadster, great weight reduction but very costly. Would be good to see what difference of 100kg lighter before and after times. :?

That's what both the MSA Blue Book and Schroth said, and was passed on to them.flatout said:Am not an expert on harness setups, but when i was looking at options on how to set mine up I was advised against this type of inverse V shaped fitment. Z4M_CSL said:Also I’ve notices the Torque have improved much more than the BHP. Before the figures was 380bhp @ 8074revs and 267 torque @ 2841 (but stay around that all the way up the rev range). Now it reads 391bhp @ 7700 ish and 304 torque @ 3700 ish.

The only YouTube video was done at the AL-tuning garage with Stage 1 mods. It says schrick cams and enlarge throttle bodies etc but its wrong. Those were added in my stage 2 mods.

When driving at 4000revs upwards the combination of the carbon Airbox, cams and other bits makes a real hard induction noise. It’s very addictive
Kings said:More to this thread than meets the eye. I have owned an E46 M3 CSL for the last 4 years, and recently purchased a black Z4M Coupe, which has been stripped and modded for track use.
I have been reading this forum for a while now, and i thought i would join to point something out. I have realised that z4m owners are waaaay behind when it comes to knowing about the s54 engine.
With the mods to this z4m vert, it is impossible to achieve 390bhp, let alone 380bhp. A CSL has 360bhp. Over on CSL Register, myself as well as other CSL owners have had these extra mods, the most you can get out of the CSL engine is 375bhp. You have to remember the CSL engine is based on the normal s54 engine on normal M3s, as well as the z4m. They produce around 330bhp at most. So the engine is already stretching at 360bhp, with the CSL.
So, i did a little research to the company the OP used, and it looks like they are con artists. I would strongly suggest to the OP to go to a more reputable tuner for a check over and for gods sake change your oil!

It seems AL tuning, which did all the work on this car, use the wrong oil in cars, diagnose cars wrongly, and take on warranty work, but pretend to change parts that cost in excess of over £4000. They actually sprayed the vanos, and made it out that they changed it for a new one.
I also found this thread over on the M5 forums, which seems to be when this guy first started to try and con people, by claiming bogus 55bhp remaps on the M5s http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/off-topic-forum/102983-550bhp-chip-tune-uk.html
A further research revealed, that they actually also lie about what performance their tuned cars can do.

A supercharged m3, full weight, probably doing 500bhp, can do less than 10 seconds 1/4 miles times? You would need a car with around 1000kgs, and 1000bhp to achieve such results. Even the E92 times are laughable, with an 11 second quarter mile time and the e92 weighs more.
I strongly suggest people do their homework, before parting out with your hard earn money. I have personally dealt with other companies such as thorney and bexley, and lost out on money, due to cowboy work, and bad customer services.
The only companies i use for work on my Z4M, is Simpsons motorsports and Evolve. Best value for money, and they are the best at what they do.
