lol I wasn't asking 'why/why not' wow overreacting

I was asking what makes it 3 grands worth more)?

I guess same as going for a Z4 over an MX5, they both do the same job but one is a lot cheaper so why buy the more expensive car :?

Tim.

my mate dave the saturationdiver bought me back a watch from a trip badged muff diver !!! mrs mad 4 hasnt clocked it yet !!

i used to own an omega speedmaster had it for 8 years then sold it for more than i paid for it so can be an investment as well as a great time piece

Loosely related- my mate, who has always loved Z4 coupes & urged my to buy one over the other cars I was considering popped round the other day. I took him for a spin & he was very complimentary....he then went on to say i'm 'mad for spending so much on a car'!! This is after he has just spent nearly as much on fishing equipment!! :|
Guess the moral of the story is spend your money on what makes you happy- there will always be people that think you're crazy but we all have our hobbies/ interests!

hit the nail on the head why I don't like B&R, Rolex, Tag, Bretling etc etc... they all use the same Swatch ETA movements...
Rolex have never used ETA movements. They used the Zenith El Primero movement (significantly altered) in some variants of the Daytona, but all of their other watches use in-house movements.

While Breitling use ETA movements, they are very heavily modified in most cases, and all are regulated to COSC specifications.

Tag Heuer were indeed using exclusively ETA movements at one point, but these days they manufacture an increasing number of their movements in-house.

On the other hand, while Omega is a brand name of the Swatch Group, the co-axial movement used in many of their watches is not made available to other brands (either within the Swatch Group or outside).

I'm not sure why you dislike ETA movements - many are among the best designed, accurate, reliable and serviceable movements available.

Love the Bell & Ross... another one to add to my ever growing list!

My daily watch is a Seiko Kinetic Auto Relay, I have it almost 13 years and it's never missed a beat!

My other watch is a Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 45mm.

Well sort of my first,

I have wanted a Bell and Ross for years now even before I was working and now I have finally been able to afford one.

So here it is, BR-01-96 Altimeter, Limited Edition to 999 pieces

Sam

Congrats for achieving one of your goals!
I like that it looks quite sleek and different, but what about a modelling wrist shot Sam?

Bought mine last month from a Jewellers in Blackburn for 2990, cheapest I could find from a reputable watch specialist but prices vary. I never wore the Monaco Steve McQueen that I sold to buy this watch which I wear every day now. Great watch

Tim.

Was that iconicwatches.co.uk? Been trying to get deb into Watches, but she doesnt get it! Looked at some pre-owned Rolex yesterday and she said none of them took her fancy. Then today we walked past an Omega boutique and this was in the window:

http://www.omegawatches.com/collection/de-ville/ladymatic/co-axial-34-mm/42532342060001
http://www.iconicwatches.co.uk/omeg...-60-001.html?gclid=CJWXp4zQg7sCFbB9OgodnG8AKA and she liked it!

Went into the shop but they ignored us cos they were busy...then another salesperson appeared and started serving someone who'd come in after us, so Deb said lets leave! I wanted a US$ price, but that didn't work. Flying home on Friday and they have "black Friday" sales on (day after thanksgiving)...wonder if the Omega boutique (at another mall) have sales?

So I looked online and found the above link.

Lol yea it is massive

Its probably my small wrists making it look bigger aswell lol

It does fit really well though and is really comfy on the wrist considering its pretty heavy aswell

nowhere have I stated I do not like ETA movements. I dislike the companies that use them and charge a fortune for changing them - and some don't modify them as heavily as you would think.

in fact in my posts I say that the ETA is pretty bullet proof, and owing/repairing and building several of their movements, I know that they are good... just not worth thousands of pounds... to me... my personal opinion.

I'm not having a go at people who do, I'm not saying they are bad, I just don't like the practice... again personal opinion.
