My Elise

Found this old pic of my previous car, a lotus Elise S2 with the Toyota engine-out of all the cars I've owned I regret selling this one the most, enormous amount of fun but just too hardcore to live with.

Alas, it had to go...

Looks lovely, i would like an S2 oneday as a weekend Toy,

Prices are strong too

Certainly are, I had mine for two & a half years and it sold for more than I paid for it :driving:

Know how you feel - would love to have an Elise - but I'm just too big to fit in it :(

Had to settle for an M100 Elan - surprisingly roomy and did fit relatively comfortably - had it nearly 3 years - loved the car - it sold within a day to the first viewer at full asking price - wished I had kept it !

Hi gov, nice car
How tall are you? I'm 5'11" and 17 stone and had a little room to spare :?

Same here, I really regret selling my Elise. It's worth more now than when I sold it!

My brother in Law has an S2 with Supercharger - it flies and corners like it's on the proverbial rails. VERY impressive piece of kit. Strong money though

Yep, they certainly are fast-tiny 1.8 four pot engine yet they out-accellerate any z4! (including the m) :o

Looks like a lot of fun Smartbear.
What were the performance figures for yours, there seem to be lots of different engine specs for the Elise, what was the 0-60 & bhp?

That will be my next car. Really love the s2 will have to see on funds and it will possibly be a daily driver...... But it's a must have car.

Mine was the poverty spec S model with the toyota 1zz engine, 134hp & 0-60 in 5.8 seconds :)
the supercharged versions give around 220/240hp from the 1.8 2zz engines & 0-60 in 4.4secs :o
recently lotus have introduced a 3litre v6 elise but not sure how quick it is?
They are all fast accellerating but its the handling that sets them apart from normal cars, the S1 elise only weighed around 725kg!
regards

My last car was a Lotus Esprit Turbo. I got rid of it as parts were becoming obsolete and it was unreliable. But when it was going you couldnt beat the acceleration and the noise on overrun was brilliant. Turned heads wherever it went. The Z4 by comparison is just too quite but hopefully it will prove more reliable.

A quick look on Auto Trader and the 220bhp VVT-i ones are starting at 30k :o

Found out yesterday that I have well respected Elise/exile specialist just a couple of miles away. It's got my Elise/vx220 wobble going again.

you cant buy a vx220, due to their different looks they are affectionately known as "skips" over on the lotus owners club-seloc :D

Because they dont seem to depreciate like most cars, ownership is not expensive-when you sell you get your money back & more sometimes!
Not guaranteed of course, but lotus do seem very good at residuals.

Would be an elise now as that's what he does.

Seem highly rated on seloc. Already emailed the guy and am going to pop in for a chat one day soon.

Still need to frive one though. Sort of hoping I hate it.

More practical that the Zed. I've seen a mk1 at the beach a few times, with a surf board sticking out the back,.with the roof up. : 8)
