I love old stone buildings like that, and a workshop inside ...heaven.

Thanks buddy we are lucky to have lots of these buildings round hear. I do feel very lucky to have on to live in and shortly one to work in

It's not bad buddy it's a small market town called Witney. On the edge of the Cotswolds so nice driving roads. If I am not working on the garage!!

Many years ago I was a courier and often did a run to London from my home town in shropshire. If time would allow I would always go Worcester, Evesham, Broadway, Chipping Norton, Oxford then M40 as it was so beautiful. I envy you living down there Matt

Matt, if there's any materials you need drop me a pm, I have an awful lot of stuff lying around at work and I'm sure it's not all needed ;-) anything from lights to wood to rubber matting to sit things on, to a fire extinguisher or two..

I know that road it's a good road  yeah it's very nice round hear. Still dark and miserable this time of year though. Still it's not bad round your neck of the woods either

Rob a fire extinguisher would be amazing  o and 1200 roofing tiles if you have them

Can't you ask Melinda messenger to hawk her boobies around the local builders yards I'm sure you'd soon get 1200 free roof tiles

Don't think I can get hold of her this close to Christmas!! Do you think it will work if I go topless???
I think there might be a reason they don't send Dominic littlewood around the shops tbh :D

lets have some more pics as the work goes on its going to great to see the finished result that's my sort of project as I have done 3 extensions. And my last garage was 36ft by 12 ft pitched roof for storage so I had a great work area

As requested hear aee a few picks from yesterday. It dose not look much but it takes time to cut out old stone then find a brick block or cut something to fit the gap. Sorry none of down stairs as i just tided up and all the pics i took where very dusty!! I will get a few tonight after cutting the hole out for stairs.

Thats all the gaps filled on the inside. So just external stone work to finish off. I might wait until spring to do that? Obviously have to wait until its not raining at least and not frosty. Then roof tiles in January i should get the electrics in over Christmas. And hopefully sort all the tools out and a few little jobs sealing with expanding foam and silicon up that kind of thing.

I hope to get the machinery in there early January maybe over Christmas??

Cracking work mate, I have a load of fire extinguishers (tickets for site have expired) but you don't need that in a residential garage!

Currently stowed away around East London, you're welcome to a few if you fancy popping down and checking out my new temporary working space....

Nice big space i could get all the machines i could ever want in there! Ok mate will have to be once i am finished the garage. I don't have any time off at the minute :( Been doing at least 15 hour days with work and this and 7 days a week since we got home off holiday!!

Coming along nicely MM. Not checked in to this thread for a while, and The Dairy is looking good!
Have you got three phase in to there for the machines, or are they single phase?
Guessing that as it was a dairy there would be three phase in there already.
I've not had a garage for over 10 years, but after seeing this thread again, I'm putting my foot down this time. No garage = No house.

Thanks buddy  Unfortunately there is no 3 phase i don't think their was electric on the street when it was last used as a dairy. All the machines are 3 phase so i will need a phase converter. Its a bit of a pain as i will only be able to use one machine at a time.

Every mane needs a cave to go hide in work in or just have some quite time!

That is a massive space, what is it you do?

My company designs and builds data centres, this is just one we're not building yet so I've got use of it for 6 months+

Got my jack, tools, little compressor etc setup, got a nice heated office and toilets too

Proper stroke of luck if I'm honest, ideal for someone like me who loves doing a job themselves.
