Too much ice-cream?

:P

Sounds like a good plan - depending on the weather and other plans, I can already see a plan developing involving mountain-biking, z4-focum meet in Moffat, the campervan, and a pub. Oh, and ice-cream too :)
No Ice cream and no alcohol since arriving in this US, methinks this is why my brain hurts, will rectify the problem this evening.

Ok been looking at the calender for next year and this is the earliest practical date I can just about guarantee being in the country.

I know it's a way off yet but who's up for it and do we make it a 1 or 2 day event, either way it will be one of the longer origianlly proposed routes.

we could always do a social get together on the 3rd Jan .

This was mentioned before, but is there anything planned for a get-together for Christmas/New year??

Was just off to check Moffat - Guiseley commuting times when I remembered I'm a beancounter with a February year-end (as is jaRED so she can't come out to play either). Ar$e. No doubt it'll be rescheduled yet again anyway, so fingers crossed I can make the re-re-re-scheduled date :poke: :)

Hey RichardG - well done on getting some dates pencilled in - I think an overnight is a good idea for this route. We should be available for this and will do all we can to be there.

Have you had a look at including the Mennock Pass - in either direction ? It's not terribly long but unusual scenery and a good climb - just a thought -happy to stick your intended. J

17/18th of March sounds good for an over-night trip to me

What's the chat of a social meet around 3rd Jan? I'm meant to return to work on this date, but could be tempted to get more time off

This open to soft southerners?

Absolutely :)

But only if we're then allowed to refer to you as "soft southerners" on the day - you started it :P

Ok Guys I now what I'm doing for the next couple of months, currently in the States but return to the UK on the 11 March, so I am finally in a position to confirm the dates for the much postponed Moffat meet.

So with that in mind I would like to start compiling a list of attendees.

I have added a poll to guage feelings as to whether we make this a 1 or a 2 day meet (only problem is March might be a bit cold for camping and that would mean everyone shelling out for a B&B which may make things prohibitively expensive), this would most likely cause day 2 to a short driving day to allow everyone to get home.

Thanks for patience on this one, once I know peoples preferences I will publish a definitive route.

Nice one m8

We are up for and have voted for the B&B, don't want to have to rush off at the end of a days driving, and good chance to have a drink or 5 in one of the pubs in Port Patrick, and to catch up with some of the old Faces and hopefully new as well.

I believe we are doing some of the A702, Just one request on that, JIMMYPOP doesn't get to be point car, He knows why.. Madman. :poke:

I do however have a new found respect for the lowly 4pot

Sounds good! I'm in - Mrs will be coming too. Voted for the 2 day option, with camping (although if the weather ain't good, I'll take the B&B  )

Previous route looked good

Defo up for this and so will the other half. Keen for it to be a two day affair as there are some cracking roads around there I would like to hook around! Not too bothered regarding camping or B&B but think the latter is probably the best option.

As for the A702 - I'm happy to have finally convinced Nosa that it's not the number of cylinders but what you do with them that counts :driving: :poke:

I've not put a vote in as I'm happy with any of the options, so didn't want to favour one at all!

Got to say though that if it's multiple day - and depending on overnight location - Jo/me might breakaway for a day and bring the bikes for some MTBing at Kirroughtree or Dalbeattie. Not quite sure on my logistics as that would mean we'd need the van, but then at least I'd have somewhere comfier than a B&B to spend the night :)

Might have been a quick offering the camping option, the only campsite I can find within a sensible distance is shut until the 1st May.

I will PM everyone in A11y's Scottish meet thread over the next few days to see if we can drum a bit more interest though i realise it is still a ways off yet, on a slightly different note however my good lady wife has informed I have inadvertantly selected the Mothers Day weekend for the run, not sure if that changes anything for anyone but it might have implications on B&B availability.

I could be interested in this. I'll have to see what I'm doing closer to the time.

I'd be happy with 1 or 2 days, probably b&b rather than camping though.

Hi - yes we'll be up for this too - B&B is perfect even though we are relatively close - looking forward to it. Maybe meet/convoy with others to start point ? :driving:
