Malaysian Airlines 777 down over Ukraine

Jeez, another Malaysian Airlines jet down, all on board killed. First reports indicate that Russian Separatists brought it down with a SAM. FFS!

Condolences to the families involved.

The worlds gone nuts!
 
Agree with both. I'd been saying before lunch the world was going mad and this just cemented that fact BUT the US banned all of their flights from flying over this part of the works due to the volatile nature. You would think all airlines would be avoiding the area.

I'm sure lessons will be learned. It is a great shame however this has happened.
 
If its found that it was downed by a missile from inside Ukraine then its about time NATO got its arse into gear instead of pussy footing around and went into Ukraine. Its about time we called in Russias bluff.

Weren't there 6 British Nationals on the flight :(

Yes this could potentially rock everything, listening to the nationalities onboard. Horrendous.
 
Terrible tragedy.

The analysis I read indicated a passenger jet could only be brought down by a sophisticated long range missile with laser and GPS or one from a close by jet fighter.

Neither sounds like rebel fire, but time will tell..

Russia are playing the cowardly bully boy blame game whilst happily supplying sophisticated arms over the border to Russian rebels. They need keeping in check, I thought thats why NATO were originally formed.

I read the same thing... Flying at 35k ft a 500 odd miles and hour a regular SAM would touch it.

Makes you wonder if someone has a vendetta against Malaysian Airlines.

It is rumoured that one of those BUK long range missile launchers has been seen in rebel hands recently. But it could all be conjecture of course (or propaganda).
 
Think we need some facts pronto here - consequences of getting the cause wrong are very serious

Tragic loss of life only slight relief is likely the passengers would not have know much beforehand

If anything other than an accident this will have dire consequences in the region

The Israel actions are not acceptable by any standards - sad day
 
every evidence now point's at the septatist/rebels:

they say they don't have missles cappible of taking it down, but a month ago they annouced they taken over a army unit using the BUK.

a rebel commander annouced at 17:50 (dutch time) that they took down a transportplane from te Ukranian airforce. later this was deleted...

they are deleting all announcements about their armoury etc.

and how i fill in putin's words, it are the rebels but he blames the Ukrainian goverment.
