Machine monkeys zed

I think i need that!!

Had a great night in the workshop last night everything went well. Even treated myself t6o a beer for my hard work
Just waiting to hear if the M back box i dear i had is what Jimmybell wants i hope he dose as i think its a tidy solution. The problem is channeling the flow through the box in a tidy way. And not using a pipe as i did in the other set i did so i made a chamber out of perforated stainless steel.

If this is agreed on i just need to weld in in place and re stuff it with wadding and then weld it back up.

My exhaust is almost done but i ran out of Argon so couldn't tig weld it. Used the arc and they are not that tidy  So i need to grind them back a bit and maybe re weld them when i get some gas.So no pictures of them at the moment.

So i had a little time to play last night ground some of the welds down on my new back boxes. Still more grinding to do and arc welding is either just messy or i am no good at it!! So please dont look to close at the pictures. I think i will have to grind out a lot and then re weld with TIG when i get some more gas.

Check out my masive G clamp in the last picture. I am hopping that + a vice and some bits of tubing will be my bush press tool?!?!

Work starts either this evening or tomorrow depending on what the wife allows!! Not sure witch job to do first.

Looks good! You sticking with the little/big tips then?

What are your plans regarding RTAB's? You going to change them, if so are you going to use standard or powerflex type?

Thanks Pete
Yep i like the little big tip combo.
Changing them I am doing jsut about every bush the only ones i am not doing are the upper control arm bushes. But if they look slightly screwed they will be done too. I am going standard but i am rethinking that on the control arms. A mate of mine has powerfelx bushes on his diff and its horrible every gear change gets a thump from the diff.

As you are changing the RTAB's it might be worth installing the limiters. Mate of mine has just done this in his M3 and says it made quite a noticeable difference. He's running coilovers and stiffer antiroll bars.
I wondered if you would have a go at making some because they are about £90 for aluminium ones and £56 for the plastic/rubber ones.

Got any info I might as well have a go?

Let me know how it goes, I'd be interested in a set if you can make them the right shape and sell them at a lower cost than the ones I linked to (obviously with some monkey mark up)

I think I can make those. They won't be anodised but I could paint? and I don't know sizes so can't cost it fully but I think there would be change from £60

Didn't get any where near as much done as I should have. And that's mostly due to meeting ba3bas and his mates and them ranging me to the pub!!!! Great day and great meeting you all

But all the bolts are lose just need some tools so I can disconnect the prop and drive shafts and the diff will be out. Then I can strip the rest out to fit the bushes and paint.

Hopefully by the end of the month i will be getting the ego set up and loving the drive.

RTAB limiters, pshhhh.....

My solution to a soft/mushy rear, aluminum mounted spherical bearings.

Right having a nightmare getting the diff out :headbang: it's do close but stuck on something and I can see what!! Anyone got any pointers???
