I've heard of this issue on the E46 330 - mine had a slight brake vibration and I got it early on and in replacing my lower control arm bushes it fixed the issue (LCAB were incidentally originals and passed their best).
Glad to hear it's a known issue tbh - nice to have my faith in my indy's honesty reinforced
just realised what you mean!! They where the right way up on my pc????
