Nice thanks Oli. Haven't put you on hear as my partner in crime. Was supposed to ask earlier if you minded. Hat my mind occupied with the blood donor vampires!!!
Not a fan of how flat they are, they just look like coasters! (although, stick some felt on the bottom and you've got a nice sideline product!)
Personally I think they're too simplistic and look a bit 'hobby' to me. Add in some three dimensionality (domed, chamfers, general section changes) and play with the arrangement of the logo (machined circle around it for example)
Might be nice to have the logo flash with the indicators but that's going to be a whole load more work for everyone :lol:

They would look cool domed and machining though so the flash is possible in theory. It's just machine time on a 5 axis CNC is about £50 an hour minimum i bet you couldn't get it that cheap. And a machined curve then engraving is going to take a while. These machines are 250k ago.

As a further comparison, the Richbrook tax disc holders, also mass produced, are £20 each. Don't sell yourself short MM, this is going to take a lot of your time, and your time is worth something :wink:

Apparently not with the laser etching but we will try. I can engrave them on the CNC machine but its trying to get time on that.

Thanks Bing its always a tricky one for me costing!! If i where to sell the stuff at the price we charge per hour of machining £55 the stuff would be a hole lot more expensive. The fact i do it in lunch brakes and after work and i don't have rent machines to pay for and so on means i can do it cheaper. All i have to pay for is material and my time. But there is also the hidden costs like whats happened recently i brought about £100 worth of material in the machine went tits up broke a £50 cutting tool and scraped the material. So the job i was making say £40 out of has now cost me £150!!
