machine monkey.... enter please

MM are you going to make them with the locating tabs, we'll then just glue them in place???

im really excited about this.... black anodised would look nice, id like just simple ///M logo with supercharged in small inscription underneath the same lengh as the ///M logo above it, id like a brushed or anodised finish....

how much you thinking???

What locating tabs sorry i have never taken any badges off apart from the bumper one?? I was thinking double sided tape? Possibly screws for the bumper one.

As for finish and material your call it wont affect price.

As for the money???? Its got to be worth my while and its all down to what you guys think something like this is worth. And how we make them. And is it just the indicator ones or a hole set? If there are lots of tabs screws and other work to be done on them then the price goes up. Even if they are just round discs its quite an easy job but i still have to rough cut them out of a sheet hold them with pressure pads cut the to the correct size. remove all the sharp edges before any finishes ( brushed - polished 0. And that's before we start laser etching / Machining any detail.

Its along way from mass production automated processes that we are used to getting cheap stuff from.

So lets see what your happy to pay and i will see if i can do it for that? I am not interested in ripping anyone off i just don't fancy working for free... Rough guide i would think that each roundel is about half an hours work with no tabs and probably only a few £2 in material.

ive copyrighted the idea of having "supercharged" underneath the logo...

it'll cost you your rpi exhaust or csl's otherwise be prepared to hear off my motherfuckinglawyer

I really like the idea of anodised black or carbon ones. I'm not a fan of putting the M badge everywhere so I would probably prefer the BMW badge or the MM logo! I think the MM logo would look awesome!!

No idea what to say on price :/

Well i just checked ebay and they start at £20 something quid. I wouldn't even bother thinking about trying to do a set for any where near that price.

I think people would be willing to pay more than that for these. A bit different to the usual eBay stuff!

What would you be thinking Mat, price wise? Black ones with the Machine Monkey logo on them doable?

Brushed machine monkey ones sound good to me, would need the locating tabs so we can get them perfectly level on the side indicator ones for sure

My preference would be anodised black with the awesome machine monkey logo or carbon with the bmw logo.

Would pay a reasonable amount for them. Better than standard badges!

Ok guys I am going to make up a selection of badges. Just the side badges to start with. I have no idea about the tabs I am going to make them flat and held with some double sided tap. We use the stuff to actually machine lumps of metal so it should hold.

Beedub I will make yours with the supercharged and logo. Might also be able to match it with the red of your other badges if you give the go ahead.

I would have to be asking £35 for the 2 indicator badges. It's an hours labor for me to get the discs cut out of a sheet set the machine up machine them. Take off all the sharp edges and get them shine and looking good. I will then have to get them laser etched and posted out.

Let me know if that's sounds to much. If so I can't see me being able to do it.

Marius may have some pics of the whole car - I think this is the one he posted not long ago as the best looking Z, with 'excessive' camber, no ?

That's not excessive... this is excessive:

35 quid for 2 sounds fair imo.....

machine take yours off the car and really study the puck unit.... these need to be flush to the puck when installed, it musnt have any raised edges ect ect....

ok im decided....

brushed silver unit, black anodised ///M logo and Red supercharged inscription, complicated... but would look awesome.... happy to pay for them but they must be perfect in order for me to stick them on the car :-) i know you can do it :-)

i also think the MM logo would look awesome too!!!

Ok I will take one into work at some point.

I am busy fixing problems this week :headbang:

I will only be able to paint the stainless ones not the anodised ones.

I will post pictures once they are made up

1st should be an ok dead line.

Ok 1st it is... Just on payday :-)

Wondering if they'll need to be curved slightly to fit the contour of the puck... ???

Hope not the laser etching needs to be done flat!!

In the garage looking at these now .. Think it may just be the BMW emblem that has the contour, the puck itself appears to be flat ...
