M40i manual review.....

Seems that all reviewers like the manual M40i, don't know why nobody has mentioned this car before since it can't be that worse with automatic ZF. Porsche fanboys have flooded the internet. Don't get me wrong, I would like a 911 or Cayman but I got a little bit bored of those cars without ever driving one

It gets Joe's thumbs up. Even had a bit of exhaust sound in the section where he used a mic mounted at the rear end.
Still not entirely sure what he means by bump-steer? I find my car can feel a bit squirrelly, a kind of rear end wiggle if driving spiritedly. Maybe that is what he means? And he is dead right, I barely ever see another one, and nobody around here has one.

Yes you are correct, bump steer does affect the Z4.
Predominantly from the rear.
I had it on mine until i had the car set up correctly. [NOT by a BMW dealer but an independent suspension specialist]...Now its virtually eliminated.
And yes it is a squirrel-y type feeling when under load or under compression... ie bump/compression... :driving: :driving:
