I'm sat in Stratstone Chesterfield at the moment, waiting for the M to be MOT'd and there is a nice, white, M235i opposite me.

It was soaking wet and they provided a car with worn tyres as well Lee. The original M135i managed 4.6 to 60 and 11.something to 100 and that has 10hp less and a little more weight so the M235i will be just as quick in the right conditions. I'd take their time with a pinch of salt. To get a truer idea look at the in-gear acceleration times.![]()

Shows someone using the new launch control, and just how fast that auto box shifts....
I am so looking forward to its arrival in June!

Thank you guys for all the advice and comments... Went for a final test drive in the M135i (used the Z4M to get me there) this time making full use of the auto box, and guess what I am 100% convinced now so....
I have ordered the M135i with:
The Sport Auto
Estoril Blue
Heated Seats
Business Nav
Comfort pack
Black panel display
Adaptive suspension
Business Speaker system (yes the standard sound system was awful)
Storage pack.
Still have a couple of weeks grace if I need to make an amendment to the above, but pretty happy with my choices.
Got a really good deal; its always a good time to get a deal in April. Now have to wait 8 weeks!
Got back in the Z4M after ordering the car, its a big difference between the two; but the smiles will always be bigger in the Z4 on a day like this.....

But today he told me i might expect to see the car in May, the spec got locked down ready for build more or less straight away, hopefully yours will be in the same batch. are you on babybmw.net as well, some good info on there about the cars.

Hi John
Brilliant, the cars are going to be built together, my car was locked down yesterday for build. I added to my initial order spec adding the adaptive headlights too. Exciting I I get my car in May too!! Yes I am also looking at babybmw too, lots of interesting stuff indeed.
I look forward to comparing notes with you one they both arrive.

Johnnymiller said:no, I'm downsizing. the Z4M barely gets used due to it being too small for my needs.i always end up in my boring diesel insignia. so I'm getting rid of the insignia and the M and just running the M135i as a compromise. i was planning to get an M4, but the other half lost her job and so that plan has been revised somewhat for the time being.....
I'm hoping it will walk down the middle of those 2 extremes quite nicely, i certainly felt that it will do that from the demo i had. the adaptive suspension made the car for me, its almost like 2 cars in one when you flick between sport and comfort!
yes, i'll let you know if i get any new delivery news from sytner.....![]()

I think many people including myself would disagree with this. The E89 interior was a good change and a bit different from the norm of BMW. The feel of the m135i interior is nice and it's a nice place to be but it's very much to the standard look of bmws.
You must also keep in mind that when you test drive a car the garage has usually spec'd it to look great, something that joe public can get wrong because it's their car and what they like but not actually that appealing to others.
I assume on your E89 you stuck with a standard dash ie no leather or wood trim just the big, bulky silver trim?
It's each to their own but one thing the E89 is not is dated, inside or out. If we were comparing a E85 to the F20 & F21 then yes a bit dated now but no, the E89 interior is not dated. Possibly in your combination hence why you feel like that with the F20/F21 being a breath of fresh air
I came from a E88 120 and 135 and the interior on them wasn't dated either because BMW tend to get it right, especially if you avoid the standard trim specs and pay the extra to make it that little bit more special.
