M135i... As soon as the Coupe comes out.

seen on last week. very nice i like the build quality of them my girlfriend has the lower spec 1.6 sport version with idrive etc and its fab to drive i really like it :D

Yes it's a shame that the convertible version was launched, that may have been a tricky decision :D

5up drift at 1:20 in is insane :driving:

It says 135i xDrive, is that like 4 wheel drive version ? :?

The M135i goes well against the competition also!

Hence my comment about yes when the coupe comes out as the original 1 was awful but looked good in coupe form... Hence I'm hoping for better looks in the coupe when it comes out..

This is a fab motor, I looked at the 2 wheel drive version a couple of weeks back as it keeps niggling at me, icing on the cake is they're a absolute bargain, I'm wondering what the cost to change would be on mine :? I'm guessing the Xdrive will be 35K ish as the standard is 29K. My only reservation with the latest 1 Series is it does feel ever so slightly cheap inside and wasn't the step forward I had hoped for over my old E87 M Sport :|

Tim.

I quite like the look of the 3 door, a bit like the old 1 series, always preferred the 3 door to the coupe.

There are some pics of the 2 series here http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=782150

Hard to tell with the camouflage on still, but it looks a bit like an Astra coupe from about ten years back. Still think the 3 door will end up being nicer, and I also read somewhere that there is already a headlight facelift on the way.

Tap the rear "diffuser" on the M135i, and watch it flap about like crazy. Disappointing.

But the drive, it's sensational

It'll depreciate like a bstard though, all 1 series do.A decent second hand buy maybe, suicide to buy new.

Seemingly like all BMW's at the moment... prices are falling through the floor... sell now or keep it if you have one!

Every car, apart from specialist ones, will depreciate....from minor depreciation on a Boxster to massive depreciation on big execs.....I've had a fair few cars in the last 11 years, nothing has stood up well....the only one that perks up, is the Range Rover Sport in winter time. I lost £15K in 3 years, which wasn't bad.....

Just had a quick look at this;

BMW depreciation rates are much quicker than the equivalent Audi for example. Not good news if its accurate.

That isn't entirely true. If you compare A4 to 3-Series and A6 to 5-Series on your model you'll see that the BMW performs better in both cases with an equivalent model selected. On the Roadster - if you want the least depreciation buy a Boxster.

I always factor in depreciation on my purchasing decision on cars because I've managed to quite successfully use my work car allowance to build up significant equity in cars without using my own savings/salary. I'd never, ever buy a brand new car for example. I've lost an acceptable amount on my Z4MC and when I consider selling it (from April 2014 at the earliest on current plans) it will have performed reasonably well.

Also true of X5 v Q7 as well...
