Yes it is odd, but I'm trying to look at it as I have a new cat on something which I aim to keep! Yes exactly, those extra 10mph make a huuuge difference to the driving pleasure [emoji6] it is scary how much the speed really wants to climb though!!

Some hate them, some like them but I got a plate for her. I have a plate with my initials on which sits on my daily. Fancied a set for this too to make it ageless.

I don't care about spelling things out, I think initials are fine and personal. I wanted M11 for my birthday - again as it means something for me but it was taken. Thought Mlll looked quite a cool number still, as the dvla site threw it up as a closest match. Then realised it actually is the M badge to a degree. Some might think it is tacky, but I like it. Again to Jo public they wouldn't notice it meaning ///M (hopefully) but you guys might spot it and thing oh dear. Haha. The initials were my intention, the rest was kind of an odd mistake. Bit like he slipped and she fell.

Opinions welcome, either way [emoji6]

Cheers guys. I think it looks much better. Plus the original spelt as close to "sex" as I imagine you could get with the dvla. "MX56 XCG Haha. Was surprised when I removed the dealer plates to find they were metal!

Tom, so pleased to see that you are now at-one with your M & that the issues were minor ones in the end, the car looks gorgeous.

The plate also looks great & I spotted the M111 vs ///M thing before you mentioned it, so I guess to those in the know it is fairy obvious if accidentally unintentional.

Looking forward to that pax ride you mentioned when we met up a few weeks ago back when you were still driving the diarrhoea coloured 'loaner' :D

only saw this post today, but great write up. Sorry to hear you had the problems and glad you got them sorted!

I think we must have been looking for a Z4M about the same time as I believe I bought the Interlagos blue with the individual blue/black leather! Must admit dont remember seeing your car in my search but it looks fantastic! :thumbsup:

Mines going back to the stealership after 3 weeks for tracking and checking over the "M clunk" which most say is normal.

Think the plate looks great! and if you swap it for an M3 later on the plate will be perfect ;)

I love private plates as long as they aretnt stupid! Car looks great hope you can enjoy it as intended now :thumbsup:
 
Cheers Tom. Yes I agree, as long as they aren't daft they do the trick to make these things look completely ageless! Drove it up to Preston last weekend which was good fun!

Fast 3000 - lovely car you've got yourself there. If it is the same one then I actually made an offer on her, but they weren't interested in trying to get me to better it - at all :-( Well they did eventually, but I'd found mine by then. Mine was odd, it had been taken off sale but the finance had fallen through, it went back on and I snapped it up instantly - I hadn't seen it either before.

Is this yours? ...

Cheers Bing! I'd like to see this and your new chariot together ... Tinned and opened versions of each other.

Just been "knuckle deep" and what a difference, the previous owner had kept everything so clean, except the exhausts!

Hopefully going to Wilton wakeup tomorrow if it is dry, I want her looking nice even if she is mixed in with the normal cars :-(

Yes almost, but not quite. I think PVR has his "engineered" wire wool pad in a dremel for his doesn't he? Or for yours should I say. But yes ... At some point we need to get then sitting next to each other. If it's a sunny day you might find a roof has been attached to yours.

Over my cold dead body perhaps :lol:

PVR used a block of wood wrapped in very fine wire wool, attached to an old drill bit I think. Not sure if he used a dremmel or just a drill, there's a thread on here someplace.
 
Haha, I'm a quick runner so you could see it drive off rather than being in a bag. [emoji6]

Must have been thinking of dremels, I meant drill. I need to have mine looked over, looks like early corrosion or something on the outside. Minor and picky as you get but I know it is there when I polish them.

A bolt through two exact measured wooden circles where the 0000 wire wool is put in between. To the wire wool, add some paste as well.

Stick on drill and off you go :)
