///M Time

its that engine!!!!! its perfect!

Cheers Beedub. A N/A bay probably looks a bit bare for your liking. Haha. I just need to chat to a detailer to make sure I don't see the head tarnish ... As it looks untouched but spotless.

I followed this thread from the start and just read the end result.

Glad the car is sorted (even though you told the dealer what the suspected issue was - they still didn't listen).

Anyway, all is well now and you're no doubt enjoying your lovely ///M.

I think the plate is awesome, really finishes it off nicely and makes it look even more special. Exhausts look great, lovely colour and I hope you enjoy it for a long, long time! :driving:

Cheers Tom. Yes I agree, as long as they aren't daft they do the trick to make these things look completely ageless! Drove it up to Preston last weekend which was good fun!

Fast 3000 - lovely car you've got yourself there. If it is the same one then I actually made an offer on her, but they weren't interested in trying to get me to better it - at all :-( Well they did eventually, but I'd found mine by then. Mine was odd, it had been taken off sale but the finance had fallen through, it went back on and I snapped it up instantly - I hadn't seen it either before.

Is this yours? ...

aby7ydem.jpg HN07 ... - I reeeeaally like that colour looking back through my phone. If I remember rightly ... New tyres and brakes all round with a fresh insp ll !!

@Tom - Just saw this post. again! Yep thats mine. As it didn't sell I think they wanted to make the sale so I haggled hard! I can't see the £ numbers on the sale sticker - do you remember what they were? thanks.

Thanks very much Wyldie. Absolutely loving it, although I admit I spend more time looking at it than driving it which is a potential crime. I spend so much time reading stuff on this forum, so nice to know I'm doing my bit to add to the material :driving:

Fast3000... glad yours is sorted too! I will drop you a PM

A dull day took to me to new levels today, jacked the car up and yep, hold your breath, polished the back boxes. Must admit, if you have too much time on your hands then it isn't a bad thing to do - I always find little things like this cheer the car up loads.

The underside of the tips are a bit shot, and the boxes could be gone over again but surprisingly satisfying.

Looks great - I kind of did the same when I de-tarred my arches recently, spotted loads of tar on the back boxes and ended up de-tarring and cleaning them too

Autosol might bring those tips up a bit ? Though it's just the underside so never really seen. Some nice diffuser cleaning there too :D

The diffuser is quite cool actually ... Led there for a bit today having a good look at it all, haven't really done it until today. Yes cheers, I tried the autosol. It has brought all of it up nicely except the underside where I think the actual chrome is damaged :-s

Did you dress under your arches? I've just ordered some of those 303 wipes and I'll have a go at them when they arrive. Does yours have any niggling little things that need doing or is it as tip top as it looked in the flesh at Duxford? I've got the alloys to refurb to get the perfect as the current blow over is shite, and there are 2 small dings that really annoy me.

Yup, not often though. Did it a few times on my last car when I changed from summers to winters, and took the wheels off this one to do it. I wouldn't do it more than once or twice a year tbh as having to take the wheels off makes it time consuming - I washed with a wheel mitt & shampoo, used a degreaser (Surfex HD) and then Tardis, rinsed and dressed with Aerospace 303 (spray, which then needs wiped dry immediately...). Oh, I covered the brakes and discs with a plastic bag too - not sure if any of that stuff will do any harm, but seemed sensible.

As for niggles... Nah, it really is pretty mint. The gear knob kept coming loose, but I've fixed that. There's the cracked trim above the A pillar that I will replace at some point ; the wheels aren't totally flawless, but they're far from needing anything done ; and of course using it daily means that a chip appears every now and again. I just want to add a few things really - cup holders, a storage net in the passenger footwell, RTAB limiters, and vibratech engine mounts. All in all about £400 though, so need to wait. The only other thing I should really do is have it checked over by my indie to get an up to date 'health check' but I've just not had the time. However, I'm loving it - and today it is very, very clean with a freshly AG cleaned and treated hood 8)

In my defence, my back boxes were an accidental detail - I was cleaning the wheels properly (de-tar, iron-x, wax), decided to do the arches too, and then my OCD went mental when I saw all the tar and dirt on the boxes.

Like I said, I won't do the arches often, but cleaning everything up in there once in a while also gives you the chance to have a poke around and make sure everything looks ok right ?

Nice routine Bing, I'll keep that in mind. Inkey.. I feel like a should be but I can't and don't think I can ever be bothered getting into paint correction, albeit at some point I will send it in to have some done. I do like things being clean though, even if they are things that can't be seen. There was a guy on zpost I think, a few years ago, with an interlagos MC who put carbon dtm style splitters on. His garage was immaculate and the car was cleaner than new!

That isn't too bad a list at all bing, and things only you know about too so no rush there! I need to add tips to the list at some point potentially, or have them re-chromed. The underside of them look shocking blown up on the laptop! The bits you see stood above look ok thankfully.

Bing, don't feel so bad about de-tarring your inner arch liners, I, ahem, may have done just the same when I had each wheel off in turn painting up the calipers, (sprayed the liners with some of that cockpit shine stuff too - is that bad? )

You guys are serious about your detailing aren't you?!

...and actually, this from the man who just put a new boot handle on because of some bubbling on the underside of the old one that nobody else would ever notice

@Tony - loads of people on here clean in there usually when the wheels are off for doing something else. There are some who take their wheels off just to clean in there of a regular basis. I am sure cockpit shine is fine mate

Am sure I'd do exactly the same if the car was jacked up and presented itself. I've polished the inside of tailpipes ffs, so I'm certain I'd hit the back boxes if given half a chance

I autosol my tail pipes every time I wash it... And actually, I give the insides a quick wipe every time I park the car in the garage. My neighbours think I'm weird, and I am beginning to agree

So just a "wee" update, after a visit to Scotland over Christmas.

My rear tyres were getting towards 2mm on the inside edges before Christmas. After some twisted man maths, and a set of shiny wheels cropping up fairly silently on here, I snapped up a set of genuine CSL alloys with almost new Michelin super sports hugging them.

RankBajin (forum name) was a gent, and kept hold of them for a good month or so, then when visiting the 'rents over Christmas in Preston I had a blast up to Edinburgh' to collect them.

The MC sits perfectly IMO on these, I absolutely love them! I don't know if the pressures on my old set were a bit low, but the turn in with these on is insane in comparison! Helped by the way superior rubber on them.

I haven't got any decent pics as the weather has been so bad ... But here are a few. We stopped to play with a couple of gadgets on the way back to Preston, before I took the zed back home to Bath.

Who had a drone for Christmas? :D

Best wheels indeed in the best colour. Really dislike them in black.
