M market watch

Just looking at that one on collecting cars, I'm not surprised it went for what it did. The airbox and wheels, assuming you like them, must easily add £1500-2000 over and above a standard example. It's also a fairly rare colour.

The only thing that struck me as strange was the beige seat plastics and door cards. I thought the M always came with grey/black plastic with just the leather inserts changing colour?

Fwiw, I also think the paint looks good. Minor swirls are a non issue and I'd argue that the road rash is par for the course. You can't expect a 12 year old, 90k car to be perfect.

Yes fairly bought and well sold, the reserve was 12k. Even taking the interior trim swap into account, if it had been in NZ this guy would have been all over it :D Looked lovely under the bonnet, and no sign of corrosion around the wheel arches or engine furniture. Love the Monaco Blue, we have a Nightblue 4 coupe Si.

I’m so glad it wasn’t just me with whom this rang alarms bells! Nice wheels and air box, but if I had been in the market I think I’d have still steered clear 🤷‍♂️

Can't Believe how ridiculously cheap the cars are in UK!?

Sweden / Europe you need to pay around 30-35.000 GBP for a nice example :headbang:

MOT history appears clean, apart from the corroded offside brake pipe advisory which was ignored for 4 years.

Would ask the seller to put on MOT on it seeing as it is due end of August for peace of mind however.

Aye

Either way... I bet a £14k bid would buy you a lovely car with sensible miles and good spec, most cars have 100k + in this price range

This time last year that wouldn’t have looked out of place at £20k when the prices went daft

Here in New Zealand there are very few Z4’s here (apart from Japanese imports that are mainly automatics) and pricing is more than the UK but less than Sweden / Europe.

It’s already been sold! Phoned the guy last week..

Looks like another very low mileage one has gone up for sale:- https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202005089234147?postcode=gu470za&transmission=Manual&advertising-location=at_cars&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=Used&make=BMW&sort=datedesc&radius=1500&model=Z4M&page=1

The price doesn't look too silly for 29K miles and one owner + demo. But Titanium Silver with Black is a bit uninspired, and although it has Sat-Nav and MFSW, there are no parking sensors, heated seats or cruise.

I wonder how long they will have it?

Ive had a ti MR & currently have a ti Si coupe  in a sea of black & greys its refreshingly clean & shows off every design line that helps the E85 E86 retain a modern look .
As for the car itself :driving: difficult to say right now where that will find its buyer , a summary of its history will help along with a look at the tyres & brakes , both of which could still be on the originals :o has it had a Ins2 ? needs a transmission tunnel cap to start so there's £15  :P

Won't be many at that mileage....probably represents a good buy at that money for those who won't do more than 2k a year. Also, the best looking MC is Dubseed's Silver one... absolute perfection.

To be fair my aversion to TI and black is because I've had a silver with black/charcoal overload over the years!

My last car before I bought my first Z was a TI silver 1 Series with charcoal trim that I had for over 6 years.

What do we think about the choice of alloys folks?

Big fan of that, makes the roadster very appealing!

What does everyone think of this Z4MC? I like the spec, but want the experts (you guys!) opinion. I know its been linked before but i didn't see too many comments on it.

Thought about enquiring into that one myself however it looks a little rough round the edges. Missing one strut alignment pin, damage to the drivers door seal and that’s just from photos.

I’m not sure what spec you’re after but there is a low spec ruby black one on eBay that looks tidy for 15.5 k , he will take 14.5 k for it ... Although always difficult to get an idea of condition from photos.

That pin is just for camber and quite common to not have, nothing to worry about.

That car has been for sale for a couple of months now. I enquired about it at the start of March. He was very up front and honest when he saw I was a BMW Specialist from my email address. A few things he listed was the drivers bolster which needed work..

Just my two cents on the driver bolster: it shouldn't be a deal breaker as it's easily restored even DIY. A bit time consuming as you leave stuff to dry, but easy enough to do and certainly cheap. Even professionally it's not the end of the world.

I have been looking at a Z4M for a while now and was initially put off by the high running costs especially the insp2 service, but i keep coming back to them and have decided if I can find a nice one to just ignore the running costs !

I have seen the below advertised fairly local, I would prefer a higher spec but its looks like a nice example with good history and pretty clean mot history. Do people think £15.5k with 80k miles is about right ? Also can anyone give any pointers on what to look out for as I keep reading horror stories regarding Vanos, Conrod bearings and a few failed head gaskets...... should I be worried or are the issues blown out of proportion ?

The car in question is;
