M market watch

Hello [ref=#006600]srhutch[/ref], no it's not. Mine is U.K. spec. I wasnt talking about taking my Z to Spain to sell it. It was merely an observation. I was shocked at how much more expensive our cars are, like for like in the rest of Europe.

So it wouldn't be worth 70% more then if you took abroad.

The market and guess demand is a lot less for right hand drive hence the price difference.

[ref=#006600]srhutch[/ref], that is exactly what i meant. I never said my particular car would be worth 70% more. I said another car, same spec, in mainland Europe, would do.

When will the penny drop with the clowns who have had this MR on their books for 2 years come June :D a set of rep CSLs , remove the mudflaps & take some fresh pics , itl be gone in weeks https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201708118241158?onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=Used&radius=1501&make=BMW&sort=sponsored&model=Z4M&postcode=bb120hr&advertising-location=at_cars&page=1

Nothing wrong with the car , high spec & we know it was well kept by forum owner until traded to this garage & even has the coveted GruppeM induction kit worth at least £475/£500

M Coupe in NZ
2 out of the 4 NZ new coupes up for sale on www.trademe.co.nz listings 1972340055 and 1985442660. Both low K’s, $50,000 and $60,000.
Another Blue one sold last year for around $45,000 from a dealer. I’d like to know how many M roadster’s there are here.

Gaddemmit! This is how you sell an M....

Is that not a forum car ? Franzino ?

I’ve been planning to sell my Z4MR this spring for a while, but as it closes in I’m just not sure what my rationale is! I’m doing virtually no miles (1200mikes between MOT’s) but do need access to a car of my own from time to time so would have to replace it with something.

Can’t see anything for the same price or less that would offer an improved proposition. The fixed costs are a bit annoying with such low mileage (tax, keeping servicing in order on time intervals) but can’t help but think there isn’t really an alternative that would offer a material improvement in those areas. Particularly as we seem to have finally hit the point of stable/gentle appreciation.

You have hit the nail on the head. I happen to like the Audi B7 RS4 convertible (for completely different reasons). But they have even more expensive bits. An Audi TT puts you in the dullard club. A Boxster or a Cayman would need to be the smaller engine to reduce it's costs. A smaller engined Z would perhaps not fulfill all your desires having had an M. You may need an E89 but just can't be sensible enough. You will need to keep trawling until you make your mind up. :dizzy:

Totally agree - I’ve looked at those options plus a few others in my endless classified trawling! I was considering a Lotus Evora / Vantage but given the low use the car gets i don’t want to tie up that much in a car, then there are C63 / RS / M3 - all great I’m sure but each with higher running costs and depreciation risk.

I’d definitely go for a Porsche but to get a good spec Gen2 car (911 or Cayman) is again a chunk more than the Z4M! I had hoped to go 996 Turbo next but prices are so firm that’s out the window for now.

Z4M is in a niche of its own almost at the moment.

I was a bit shocked to see this one pop up in a garage near me. It’s an ex forum car that has been in the ownership of paulgs1000 for the last few years and was Sammyz’s before that.

The AP’s really let it down in their condition imho, they look so rusty and worn. Shame. Otherwise a nice car.

its a 3.0 lol been on ebay few times now

When I was looking at Z4M's back in November, this kept popping up. The advert basically omitted the fact it was a 3.0 with the M bodywork in the title/start of the advert. Thankfully I had joined this forum and the other UK Z car forums, so I had just enough knowledge to not go rushing in and making the mistake of snapping this car up without realising it wasn't a genuine E86M.

With me wanting to get a E86M so badly, I almost missed the tiny bit of text saying it was a 3.0

While I have no issue with people modding their cars with the M parts, it does annoy me when they are trying to pass it off as one when it's for sale. I think I even reported it to eBay, as the listing was misleading as hell and the seller damn well knows it.
