If anyone wants one with near identical spec, 51k, real CSLs and Aero skirts too - you can have mine for a mere £20k, saving you nearly £3k.

Mine is still under warranty so has no issues, it's practically an AUC

Has this one been mentioned? Mega pricey for mileage, year and spec. 59k, 2006, Nav and heated seats... No cruise or PDC.

http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=221693909522

Also paint lacks lustre, exhausts are choked black and the drivers seat really needs a mega clean...! Not particularly well prepped I'd say!!

thats ALOT of money!!

I'd guess that's had the tips replaced with black exhaust tips a la some e92s but nevertheless that is big money for the spec as I paid a quite a bit less for my same colour combo with PDC and just 10k more miles.

That's just dirt and carbon my friend

And not even full BMW history. That has to tell you something considering a dealer has bought it and the price it's up for.

I appreciate this one has been mentioned previously, in fact by me as the colour did not look like Interlagos from the photos... but what do people genuinely think it's worth? Good spec, low miles, new brakes and tyres.

My father has really started to show an interest in mine, as more of a keeper rather than it getting any use. Wondered about going to see this and hoping it just needs better photos and a decent clean, oh, and those hideous boot carriers removing.

I'm always suspicious of ads which don't include many photos, you're selling a car online that someone can't see, obviously buys will want as many photos in as high def as possible... so why only put two up... :headbang:
However that could just be lazyness, the car may well be legit. I've found that interlagos blue can appear 'off' depending on the photo quality, mine looks purple in the signature and looked purple on the dealer adverts, it was just the lighting and camera type.
If that is legit I'd say it was a winning deal, the mileage is ideal for a collector. In fact with that mileage I wouldn't be surprised if the lad gets a call soon from BMW AUC...

My view on mileage is....

If you're buying to add serious miles, get a mid-high miler. Otherwise, you're potentially paying a huge premium for low miles, only to go on and immediately nuke the 'low mileage' status of the car.

If you're average miles or less, get the low mileage car. At worst, your mileage will rise in line with 'average' so you'll still maintain relatively low mileage on the car.

Just my #tuppenceworth

That's exactly my thinking as a collector car - 24k miles. And I also wondered if the car could be knocked down sizeably on price if the guy doesn't know what he's doing/what he has, making it better for dad as an investment. I know that's a very un-gentlemanly thing to do...

Is your dad goin to drive it at all or just lock it away?

If it's truely an investment, I would look somewhere else and not a Z4m.

Leave it in the garage/drive it lightly at weekends. The R8 has done 14k in 5 years, mostly to LeMans and back. He likes the looks and thinks they will hold value/go up. Not really an investment but something to have, play with and not lose money on.

Ah yeah, that makes sense.

It's worth 14k tops in my opinion . As a potential future investment ,unless your Dad is going to hang onto it for at least another 10-15 years and keep it pristine then forget it ,Esepcially by the time you've factored in insurance ,tax ,servicing etc .If your dad just fancies it because he likes nice cars and can easily afford it as a wee hobby then it's very sensible .

As a drivers car I would say the R8 is hard to top in my experience ,utterly brilliant but no soul . In comparison the M is going to be a bit of a dissapoitment in terms of tactile driving experience ,but it has a lot more character ,more old school cf R8 .Has he thought of a TVR ,if hes looking for a car that won't loose money and will be a def future classic then a precat big valve Griff is way to go ,but it needs to be pristine with perfect chassis and a sheaf of bills as long as your arm ,ie someone else has already had the pain and done the hard work getting it spot on . That would be my dream car , oh and maybe a perfect original lotus Elan sprint .

£14k for a 24k Z4MR....you been at the crack again

I reckon it's worth £39k IMHO......opinion just as valid and rational as yours (with some slight exaggeration  )

I would Actully have some reservations about a nine year old car which hasn't been used much ,Esepcially if it's been for start stop short journeys . So that's why I would not pay over the odds for a low miler . I mean at the end of day it's just an old car with the same inherent issues ,albeit one which once cost > 40 k . You may well find someone who is willing pay 16 k if it ticks all their boxes ,which is fair enough ,all I'm saying is that it wouldn't be me .

£14,000

Oh yea......Sorry,its a roadster...

As you where..

Couldn't agree more about old cars and low miles, though I understand why it can seem appealing.

I've just spent the last 2 months looking at z3s for my girlfriend (11 in total) and the mileage was largely irrelevant with regards to actual condition.

I'd be happy to pay a premium though if the mechanicals and body tallied up with the miles-trouble is many owners seem to view the lack of use as a reason to leave it unserviced for years on end.

I'd take the black one on here at 13 k rather than this one at 16k ,as the former even though higher miles clearly has been properly looked after .
