it starts to make me somewhat suspicious of the dealer.
there not stupid, and will have done their research before buying the car, or are they selling on a sale or return.
you dont lump out that sort of money as a dealer without doing your checks.
it would not be good for there reputation, if this car is iffy whether they were aware or not.

Looking very dubious!
Look carefully at the numbers on the mileage in the service book and it looks like the same person has written them. (6's & 8's have the same flow and the flow of the letters in the signatures is also similar) - But at least they used different coloured pens

call me cynical, but dealers are neither naive or stupid.
they know far more than seems apparent in my opinion.
they will know what that car was worth both trade value and retail.
dealers do not sell genuine cars too cheap for any reason.
they are there to make as much money as possible.
its priced low for a reason, and am suprised any reputable dealer would want to get involved.jmo

So wouldn’t worry about that.
Best way to verify would be to call BMW Customer Services and ask for a history report so you could ascertain whether the history on their records matches that of the book...
But in general I would just avoid this car.

in the good old usa, long way to go for a service.
not much thought went in to that.
if your going to use a dodgy service stamp, at least pick somewhere that could be feasible,even if they are no longer in business.

There are a few people on ebay who can give you a list of all visits that a car has made to the BMW dealer network. I think you only need the last seven letters / digits of the chassis number.
This will give a list of dates, dealer location, mileage and whether it was service or repair. Not a lot of detail, but certainly a help in mileage verification!

Iffy history doesn't always mean a bad car., what it does is affect value & by the sheer interest registered in it you can't say price doesn't reflect "possible" issues that need ironing out.
OK it's never going to tick all boxes for many but it could still tick some for someone :wink:

I love my E85, even more so in weather like we had today, but every time I see the Coupe I just know it was what my heart was lusting for, but my wallet effectively cockblocked from happening!
Even if there are some small issues, as long as it would pass a pre purchase inspection, I would happily offer up my E85+difference to get my hands on one. But my old man got stung so badly with his E46 M3 Individual, that on the surface seemed to stunning, but eventually after owning it for 6 months the true problems started to rise to the surface and cost him thousands get put right.

I think it definitely proves again that it's well worth spending a few quid more and buying a well known forum car. You can trace a much truer reflection of history just through the posts.

As soon as I saw the location of sale I knew it would be dodgy!
