M badge on a Non M Z4C

The 'M' owners apparently

mustn't have others displaying 'their' badges. tut tut.:poke:

I think for the M owners who buy the car for the badge then they are paying the extra premium to have the real thing; only for someone to slap on a badge and inpersonate them - which i can see being quite upsetting.

For the M owners who buy the car for what it is.. then they wouldnt care if someone did this.... after all there car wont drive as well as theirs with this extra badge.

Personally i find it amusing... all the type R's, GTi and turbo badges... i am still tempted to put some 2.0 badges on mine.

LOL.

Personally I don't give a rats ass what someone else does with their car....like everyone else, I'm just saying it makes them look like a chav. If someone wants to look like a chav, go for it

What I did like was the M5 I saw rocking a 520d badge - now that's cool ;)

Hmm and what I bet the owner doesn't realise is that if that car is nicked and somehow recovered damaged. The insurance assessor will quickly NULL the claim because of the badge.

A colleague of mine did it with his BMW 318is many moons ago and simply had the M3 badge on the rear. The car was nicked and trashed by joy riders. The mobile phone in his hand shattered rather loudly against the comms room wall when the insurance company said, DENIED

This I would imagine is an open invitation for an insurance company to say "erm excuse me but you have potentially brought unnecessary attention to the vehicle and contributed to its being stolen ...".

The insurance company was Liverpool Victoria I believe.

I`m actually wondering getting M badges on my car, its an 2.2 with Supercharger. It also have complete M styling, with Headlamps, taillights, hood, bumpers, grill, bigger brakes, 4 exhaust pipes, carbonleather look interior, steeringwheel, gearknob, handbrakeknob, footrest and on.....

What do you think members?

Since its just an M badge, not M3, M5 and M6 badge I thinks its OK, and it is an M-technic as they call it, because of all the M parts..

Fitting a quad exhaust, M bumper or M wheels because you like the looks isn't badging your car as something it's not

Eh. It was an M that had 2.0 badges to make it stealthy. He eats up hot hatches in the motorway because they sidle up thinking he has a 4 pot. Wasnt being derogatory.

And they cant even bloody park properly

Nice to see this is a coupe trend

I ALWAYS park over two spaces. After the first time I went to the supermarket in it and the door got dented I decided to just take up two spaces from then on.

I would love to park like that, but I feel that people don't see it as "that guy is only doing it to keep his car from being damaged" they think "look at that arrogant tw*t taking up 2 spaces, typical BMW w*nker"

yeah, but if you take up 2 spaces you'll find someone will park in the 1/2 space next to you and dent your door anyway for thinking you can take 2 spaces.

Exactly my sentiments also.

I would be afraid people would purposely damage my car if I parked liked that.
