Still waiting to get coding sorted to take the T effect out and the dash light off also but can live with it for the time being anyways!
I am going to tint the rear lights a little still I think

They look brilliant! Wish I had kept them now  ah well, they've finished the back end of your car off nicely.

I think there's only supposed to be one reverse light, passenger side - Well that's what mine has

Mac (Neil) is your man for coding - he did my lights aswell as other settings

Looks great

I think they would look good tinted slightly as they would tie in with your dark wheels.

Pretty sure both my reverse lights come on.
But i thought the pre only had one reverse light (the other side being the fog) which is why only one side works when you retro fit this without doing what luke has and run another wire across)

I think you misunderstood my point JE.

Your car is a pre so came with a reverse light only on one side.... Which is why one side works... Same as ranski etc.

Luke ran a wire over to have both reverse light up like mine (a facelift) and still gets the bulb out.

So the bulb out is prob due to the voltage difference in the facelift tails... Which you are correct a recode will resolve (tell it to expect the correct power) however i cant see how it will make both light up, as ranksi only has 1 side still.

Thanks Rich! Looking at pics of your car before and after definitely fuelled the fire to get this done!

100% de-ginge now  takes years off the car doesnt it, i still need to re-code mine like you so give me a shout when or if you do this as i cant figure it out, i have the T effect and the light bulb warning due to only one reverse light working
Yea makes a huge difference to the rear end. Love how it makes it look wider with its horizontal lines  yours is lookin pretty damn good too mate!

Spot on! Without taking the wire across the car you can not simply code it to give a reverse light on the right hand light because the wiring wasn't there to accommodate it on the Pre Facelift models! You can also run the wire for the fog lights to come on both sides but decided to keep it on just the one side.

Because you have to tie back the 2 6v wires which powered the tail lights, this is where the fault is thrown up from. From what I understand the coding stops the car from checking these 2 wires for faults. The fault is not pulled up because the right hand reverse light is not working because the car doesn't know there is one there anyways! If that makes sence?!

Will try and get the tinting done later on this afternoon and pop up some pics!

Has anyone else found these are a real tight fit?!

Looking sweet Luke

Mine - on a facelift - are not that tight a fit, but I did find them a b1tch to line up properly after I had mine out to try and discover why only one fog light worked (I know why now  ). Perhaps there is some subtle difference to the mounting plate or surround on the prefacelifts ?

I think the surround is quite a bit different than just the two brackets that come down inside them I had to cut away the side of the surround too for them to fit in properly. Got there in the end though!

Little pic of the reverse lights at night (taken whilst not reversing!! )

No lights just reverse

Oh yes Luke that does look good !

Thanks mate!! How's your motor at the min mate?
Yeah great thanks
My grumble really are those gear and handbrake gaiters we had. Mine are fading fast are yours?
I'm also into the facelift rear now I've done the front. Just doing the front is a BIG improvement and seeing your new rear has got me thinking. It really does look 5 years younger
(Please everyone I'm talking about Luke's car when I say he has a nice new rear  - )

Just to keep everything here - Dropped new rear lights and had to fix

Both rear wheel bearings changed yesterday.
Still not got round to putting the coilivers on! Have Monday off work so may do the job then

Have been reading a lot about the CDV mod which I may attack on Monday too

Always a challenge getting the car up on a lift!
Have to jack each side up with a small jack to then fit the arms of the lift under!

Yeah mine are doing the same mate. Not a fan if the long lasting quality of these. Not sure what to do with them. Weather to change them and if so to what colour? What do you think?

Yeah :( thought about leather stain of some sort but it'll stain the silver stitching as well. Probably wait till I go to the classic car show and see what's available either restorer or replacement. Shame really as they were lovely when they were new
