Luke and his Z - Getting there!

Thanks gents!

This is the stuff I used http://bit.ly/18bTASC TBH I think it's all in the prep to get a good finish. Running the heat gun over the lot once done seems to of given it a nice shine too. I had read up on a few that clear coated the wrap once it was on to make it look more like the real thing, but the heat gun did the job nicely I think
if you want anything doing let me know! I have loads of the stuff left! I'm gonna do the front and rear bottom lips of the bumpers next week too.

next time try this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4D-GLOSS-AIR-Free-Carbon-Fibre-Vinyl-Wrap-Textured-for-car-home-real-look-/190764831163?pt=UK_Wallpaper&var=&hash=item2c6a7851bb

it's shiny and looks almost like real thing

Very nice!

So I was in Milton Keynes today at the Apple store and picked up a lens for the iPhone to have a play with. Fish eye, wide angle and macro.
Few cabin shots with the phone...

I'll have a good play with it after a good clean tomorrow afternoon.
Also got my Gaptec module through the post and fitted that this afternoon... BRILLIANT bit of kit and takes 10 mins to plumb in  will get some decent images up tomorrow.

My paint guys are still away on holiday so still no spoiler yet :( patience is key!

Few pics...

Soon as my paint guys are back the spoiler will be on

The Gaptech roof module is brilliant! Very easy to use an a doddle to fit too. Would recommend it to anyone!

Looking great Luke

I walked back to my car today and popped the roof as I approached... then thought 'ah, soooo many great toys' as I plugged my phone into the Intravee. You need one of them too :D

On a side note, I still can't figure out how you can have the car sat so low with 19s and not get rubbing, when I do on 18s :x :P

He has welded the suspension so no rubbing, OR is in denial :)

Either way the car is looking top notch Luke

Bloody hell, just tried to imagine a Z with welded suspension and mentally recoiled from the nightmare that ensued :D

Thanks gents!
Suspension not welded! I'd be in a wheel chair if that was so!!! :)
You gotta remember I got my arches rolled and the rears ended up flaring a couple of mm in the process, which makes a massive difference! So thankfully, apart from the odd huge hole or fast dip, no rubbing! If ever it does its only ever at the front

The intravee is on the list! I bought the iPod integration I have now from Ranski which works a treat, but I love the added extras the intravee offers so will be on the look out shortly!!
Thanks for the reminder!

I will take the iPod thing off you when you update

How much did the arch roll cost? Thinking I might need something like this? Although from what I have seen on my car it's just the plastic part that rubs? And surly lowering brings the wheel in at the top? Think I might get buddy with the heat gun and try and mould the in arch liner a bit.

Moulding the inner liner definitely helps too, I have done that on the fronts a little (needs a little more to be just right!)

I got it done through a company called Arch Enemy, based just outside of Bicester, the village opposite wyhvale as you come out of Bicester towards Oxford. From memory it was around £80. Prices are on their website though

Been a few weeks since I've popped an update on anything happening with the Z...

Only a few things:
Bought an Intravee (very excited!) hopefully fit it before the weekend if it arrives in time. (You'll get your iPod stuff shortly after Mat!)

Painters are back next week so spoiler will be on shortly

Planning a day full of mods sometime in June which will be EPIC! AE and Clear Lights will be flying round like no ones business!

Been so busy with work of late so nothing really to show!

I did get roped in to going to the farm with my eldest for a school trip! Only male there on the day! What's that all about!?
No real update pics if the Z so a quick picture as we set out for the farm...!

Will give her a clean tomorrow and get some pics up.

Had some bad news through. The guys who do our painting have just got back from a month away and their unit was burned down... Everything gone. All their tools, 2 cars, parts etc... BUT most importantly my spoilers seem to of only been slightly damaged!
Poor guys, they came over and were just distraught. 2nd time they have had to start from scratch now. They think they will be able to repair what damage there is on the spoilers and get them installed in due time. Last thing I want to do though is pressure them now time wise! Will wait and see!
Will pop up some shiney pics though tomorrow

Thats rubbish luck for them!! Is it arson hope they are all insured.

Car is looking great Luke and i am looking forward to our day of mods :) Its signed off by the wife

As a note about the rubbing i have had my arches rolled and modified the inner liner and get no rubbing either. And that's with a 40mm drop and m fitment wheels. Again as you say any rubbing is minimal and at the front.

So, update!
Been a while since posted updates on this thread so I shall keep it alive!

Met with a few of the forum lads and got the Angel Eye and Clear Hockey Stick conversion done

Worst job is getting silicone off of plastic! Not one I want to do again!

Not much has happened to it since then really.
Gave it a little clean today and went or a little hoon.

Just gotta love that rear!!

So, spoiler still not on :( paint guys will HOPEFULLY be on the case late next week.

I am however on the hunt for some bucket seats. Really not a fan I the OEM ones. I don't fancy forking out mad money for a set of M seats. I would LOVE a set of Cobra Imola seats but would probably go for the Monaco or the Corbeau Sprint seats. Decisions!!
BUT one thing I want to retro fit into whichever seat I get is the heating system! No idea how I'd go about doing that yet but it must be doable!

I love this car, I am gutted the spoiler wasn't melted in the fire though :D

That rear is sexual without it
