Live your life to the full...

Fingers are still crossed for you buddy. Your so right our NHS staff are amazing my mum had a very serious operation 10 years ago. She is sill alive and kicking. All the best buddy

Praying for you and your mum Woots. She is too young to have suffered this but she will pull through.
I haven't been able to post here in a while myself due to a terrible blow to my own health out of the blue.
But I try to remain optimistic although I've had my down days.

Wishing good health to everyone and a good new year.
Costa.

Rialas, sorry to hear that as well. Hope you are on the road towards the right direction.

Thank you for the good wishes.

All I meant to say is +1 to Woots quote...
"Live your life to the full".

Woots. Your mum is at an age that she has every chance to fully recover.

More news Woots please

it was all going so well...
today they removed the air tube....which was def good news, she had a sore throat but tht was normal....so we were all v happy...
until about half 7 this evening just before we were about to go...and she started saying she had crushing chest pain...concerning....she looked in so much pain, and so they gave her a big dose of dimorphine....
consultant sat us down and gave us the low down, the chest pain might go away, it has before
or it could be issues with her heart cos for the 6th time ive been told it was a very big heart attack....it may be the dead muscle being such a burden tht its causing pain or it may be fluid still left in her lungs....they just dont know, so dependng on how tonight goes they may transfer her back to the other hospital where they will decide what to do, they said we may need to make some tough decisions as trying to save the heart will most likely cause another bleed on the brain and risk further damage....
we were told its prob best we left her to rest...so when we tried to say bye she wasnt very happy and managed to whisper she wanted to come home, we told her she needed to stay to get better and she attempted to get out of bed....telling her she couldnt come with us made her pull a very very sad face and i shed a few tears as i looked back at her, i felt so sorry for her seeing her in pain and genuinely upset... :( :( :(
so its another wait and see....feels a bit like its back to stage one except this time i could see the pain she was in :(
things are sent to test us...

had a little bit of a chat with the nurse who was meant to be dealing with her today....seeing as she is in ITU its meant to be one to one treatment...but for some periods it seemed the nurse was sat in the corridoor looking over 2 or more patients....at one point my mum rolled over and the heart monitor starting going off because the pads had obv come disloged and wernt getting a reading....so i was there trying to put it back on....but the nurse wasnt there....she was seeing another patient...now im not being funny but if something were to happen and i wasnt there to call for someone...she was away for 5 mins....in ITU...anything could happen so why the lack of ppl
when she came back i was like "are u undermanned today" and she said tht a few ppl had called in sick and i told her tht seemed v convinient on xmas day...but she assured me it was still one on one....
i wasnt rude as i do fully appreciate the work they do as ive already said...just concerned me that in the 5 mins her back was turned from my mum or someone else then sometihng couldve happened
lucily the guy seeing her tonight has dealt with her almost every night and he has my full trust....one of those guys tht u know is good in a desperate situation....

Tough time mate. I know how you feel.

My mum died 7 years ago this January completly out of the blue from a heart attack. She was early 40s at the time.I was 19 at the time at uni and my sister was 16.

I wish you and all your family the best of luck and you are so right, life is not a practice, you only get one chance at it!
