I use a cover on my z as it does get really dusty even though I have a electric door .doing a good job in the man cave might think about a sofa for mine and a drinks bar lol
Had our original wooden up-and-over garage door replaced with a sectional one 6 years ago - could have had a motor fitted but couldn't be arsed- it's only a single garage set away from the road - tbh I've only used it as a garage since I've owned convertibles - the drive is long enough for several cars so even when we had 2 cars and a camper we kept them all outside on the drive - my paranoia set in when I bought my Lotus Elan - the advantage of having a sectional door was doing away with the original side posts - the sectional posts are set set inside so I gained 3 or 4 inches either side - makes a huge difference getting it in and out easily particularly if the side mirrors are static. Albeit a single garage it's big enough for the zed to fit in and still be able to get out easily.

Wasn't so much the cost but all that faffing about waiting for it to rise and fall - easier to get 'old of the bugger and pull it up or down as required - another advantage of a sectional or roll up door is that if you're constricted with space you can drive right up to the door - particularly helpful with parking a second car outside the garage.

Thought about knocking the hall wall down and extending the garage into the lounge ? It would make a nice double with room for a sofa. Basically like having your Zed in the lounge
