life goals

Ok, the switches will be replicated in the connection block below so that is where my control unit would hook into. My product can control infinite units in a single app which is what I would need for the new 4 doors.

I will go take a look and get a better picture of the control board!

Yep, up and down buttons. The Photocell on the right is an addition you can install that if you break the beam (read - park the car in the open door), it will not close the door on your car.

Thanks for that picture - that is great, who did you buy the doors from in the end for £370? Just want to browse the site to see what they have colour wise.

Last question (promise :) ), what is the width of the side guides? I need two on each pillar so need to know it will fit behind the pillars ...

this is the website http://www.rollerdor.net/
this is their ebay page where i bought mine seems the discounted price was only for a couple of days but i paid £395 plus £60 for delivery http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110931449118
They have a whole range of colours white as standard buts looks like its £35 extra for a different colour. I think the guides are around 40-50mm wide but id have to measure them will grab a tape measure from my van in abit and post up on here.

Thanks Dan - had a look on the website, and the only thing that worried me there was that it looks like you have to hold the remote to get it to close? Is that correct as that would really sound weird to me that you have to press, wait and hold the button to shut it.

That would be a show stopper for this make for me ...

Yeah for the down function but you might be able to set it to go down with one press with the dip switches. Might be worth giving them a call tomorrow to verify. I guess its a safety feature as i know some regulations have been set for them. Let me know what you find out.

Uh … work in progress :)

In between 2 and 4 bays at the moment …

Feck's sake, my life goals do include commenting on something more interesting (sorry PVR and Dan) than garage doors on a Friday night at a certain time. Happy that Dan had got his house/car/garage door sorted - hope to see you at Chepstow again, Dan, bearing in mind you parked next to me and Spencer (sorry, Spencer and I...) last year and have been castigated for getting your car in the wrong spot) - but Fridays are simply not for "garage door discussion", unless you are both in the same pub discussing the same garage door and how it functions - which I'd likely duck out of anyway, if I was there. Might be a Yorkshire thing, I'm not sure. Could be applicable - geographically - a little more widely but that's not my call. Maybe there are parts of the UK where the only talk is about garage doors...

Sorry Steve next time I'll check with you what I can and can't talk about...

And just to be clear the life goal is mainly referring to the fact I've bought a house and I'm at home because now I'm skint! If you don't like the conversation why join in with a pointless rant?! :poke:

I'd rather not bet he has one of those boring ones you have to open manually!

No issues to report found out the down function can be one touch to complete by changing on of the dip switches. Fitted one on my dad's garage now as well. Hope your build is going well!

I'd better not post picture of my garage door. Cos it's a boring manual one. It's a nice Blue colour though and opens real fast. :D

I do miss the old door as it was quicker but you had to get out of the car to open it
