Lewis to leave mcclaren?

mcclaren are probably sick of lewis's repair bill!!!. would be surprised if they would replace Michael at Mercedes without his say so as he's bringing in most of the teams advertising and air time, also he doesnt drive too bad when the car is working

I think Di Resta is overrated. Good, not great, and for me he's being outshone by his team mate this season. I still reckon Di Resta will end up at Ferrari as Alonso's bitch anyway.
Hamilton needs to get away from McClaren. As someone else said they have perfected the art of screwing up his chances and then of course Maldonado at Valencia and then Grosjean last weekend have cost him a boat load more points too. He also looks a bit lost without his father managing him. I thought this season he looked a bit more mature and then last weekend his tweeting seemed bizarre behaviour again.
Agree he needs to lose the earrings, the girlfriend, the gangsta stylie behaviour and take a leaf out of Button's book.
Schumacher should NEVER have come back to F1. He's never looked close to his previous best. I never liked him anyway so I won't mourn his retirement.

Hamilton can go and have a paddy at another team. It would be good to plant him in an "average" car to see how he does. Button has earned his spurs

Never really been a fan of Hamilton, he's always come a cross as a bit of a personality vacuum in my opinion so I've just never warmed to him. Cutting the apron strings so to speak may be the making of him, either that or the breaking.

I like Jensen and Louis, and I couldn't care less what or who they do off track. They get paid to race, I watch the race, if I want to see hot girls I can change the channel. 8)
As for Schumacher, he's a dirty sod who shouldn't have a license for F1. "He's only defending his line", yeah right, three times in the same corner.....I wish he'd jump into a Nascar race and see how long they put up with his antics. He'd be spinning into a wall right quick.

Is Hamilton's contract coming up at the end of this season by any chance ?, usually the start of gossip and rumours.Not bothered where he goes, until he grows up and dials in some consistency, he'll never be world champion again.Yes he's fast, but massively inconsistent, he never knows when to back off a bit and take points, or to wait for better opportunities to pass, he just goes in and often comes off worse.Don't mention his stupid earings and beards and I think his bird looks like his dad ( see the smile). JB is the man in our house, and showed his maturity last weekend at Spa.He had a good car, and monstered the whole field, didn't put a foot wrong,a classic demonstration of a world champion in a good car.Hamilton may be faster over a single lap, but Button is the better racer.Button's lousy form mid season has largely been down to the Mclaren not getting heat into the tyres, Button struggles as he is so smoth, Hamilton is more of a chucker of cars and so has been able to get more heat in, thus more grip. The rest of the season will be interesting.

It's a shame he can't get his act together. When he does he's fantastic to watch - especially on the days when he's taken a car that's not the fastest, driven the wheels off it and won when it shouldn't have (much like Alonso has on a few occasions this year). As for Button, it's just a shame he can't do a Brazil '09 or Canada 2011 more often. When he's on form and got the car in the sweet-spot he's unbeatable.

There is a lot of nonsense spouted about Hamilton's form on here. This season he HAS consistently picked up points and finished races. He's avoided incident nearly all season long so far. The only real exceptions being when Maldonado (F1's nutter) drove into him in Valencia (arguably Lewis was 30% to blame but he was trying to hold a place with 2 laps or so to go) and in Spa where Grosjean crashed into him. He's lost no end of points this season from bodged McClaren pit-stops, or for example getting a puncture on lap 2 in Germany. He'd be at least second behind Alonso were it not for those. I think so far he's had 5 podium finishes in 12 races and scored points in 9 out of 12.

I don't necessarily disagree PVR. If the thread was about reasons why Lewis isn't that popular there are plenty of reasons identified within here. However if it his performances this season that are debated then that's a different story. He has performed significantly better than his team mate and would be in a much better position to challenge for the world title if his team hadn't made so many cock-ups.
