Lewis to leave mcclaren?

I agree with Guvnor, Hamilton has been one of the most consistantly fast drivers this year, only really beaten by Alonso, who's had a fair amount of luck on his side.

Hamilton's not got the best personality, he's often pretty foolish, but his driving is what matters and there he's the most entertaining to watch by far.
You watch all the programs on racers of the past, they had playboy lifestyles in the extreme, yet they're hero's. People seem much quicker to condemn fame, fortune and talent in the modern era :|

I really hope he doesn't go to Mercedes, there's no way they'll be championship contenders consistantly enough over the next few years. McLaren may make mistakes, but they're always close to the top and in with a chance.

When he first came into F1 I thought he was the new Senna, shame it's all gone to his head. His behaviour at Spa with all the whinning and tweeting before the race shows what a poor loser he is. He has so much talent but has let the fame go to his head, most of the pit lane don't like him but now his team must be fed up with his antics as well.
I had a feeling before the race that he was going to have some sort of incident because his head was in the wrong place. I'm convinced that he could have avoided Grosjean crashing into him at the start if he really wanted to. He had room on his right to move across and try and avoid the crash but he didn't make any attempt to get out of the way. Alonso would have moved to the edge of the track or onto the grass to try and avoid RG. Of course he was not at fault for the crash but he could have at least attempted to take some avoiding action.
I'll get my coat.........

Sort of know what you mean, except I don't think it really fits Hamilton... Prince Harry does a better job of the playboy lifestyle to be honest, Lewis just has a pair of playboy earrings.

Mansell and Senna came to blows in Spa (off-track)... James Hunt and Eddie Irvine really did the Playboy stuff properly (Hunt could even drive!)... trouble is Hamilton is just getting known for being reckless and whinging a lot. He's good when he does perform, but no more so than Raikonnen, Alonso, Vettel, all of which have a better chance of becoming hall-of-famers.

If Hamilton would grow up (lose the earrings), man up and step up then I would support him, but every time he ***'s up you're just waiting for the latest whinge about how life isn't fair.

F1 is lacking good characters at the moment (exciting ones anyway)... maybe they should see if Prince Harry can drive an F1 car?

Said he shouldn't be allowed to race for England any more.

Tell him to rest easy, Hamilton doesn't race for England, He races for Mclaren, he doesnt even represent England, He represents Britain, Just as Coultard did and Diresta does. :poke:

While I'm assassinating his character I might as well add that those earrings look totally gay and what is that beard all about? It's like he forgot to take his helmet chin strap off.

not got anything driving like to add, apart from Soo agree with Mowflow's comment about the gay earring.

So after all this chat, do we think Eddie Jordan is just talking through his arse like he normally does? I've got no time for him, just a total wind up merchant who spouts out comments purely to get a reaction - would do well on somewhere like Sky News I guess...

Hamilton: really admire him as a driver - reminds me of Senna - but he can be a complete arse at other times.

Button: good driver but only when the conditions/car suit him, which is why I rate Hamilton as a better driver than him. IMO Button's similar to Webber in that respect.

Di Resta - getting there. Has the right attitude both in and out of the car, would love to see him in a better car so we can see if he's got "it" or not...

Alonso and Vettel are still the best drivers at the moment IMO. Raikonnen - love his style though!

There is a lot of nonsense spouted about Hamilton's form on here. This season he HAS consistently picked up points and finished races. He's avoided incident nearly all season long so far. The only real exceptions being when Maldonado (F1's nutter) drove into him in Valencia (arguably Lewis was 30% to blame but he was trying to hold a place with 2 laps or so to go) and in Spa where Grosjean crashed into him. He's lost no end of points this season from bodged McClaren pit-stops, or for example getting a puncture on lap 2 in Germany. He'd be at least second behind Alonso were it not for those. I think so far he's had 5 podium finishes in 12 races and scored points in 9 out of 12.

Well said
If I were earning mega bucks I wouldn't live in Britain, Different story perhaps if it were the tax payer who was paying my wages.
We all know that Lewis can be a bit of a prat but he has matured over the past couple of years on track.
He is still a young man and is living the dream.
It's just the British way to Judge and dislike those who have done well for themselves and choose to live as we would all like to.

What does Amaze me is how lewis has the strength and energy to race........

I have actually annexed my plot of land in Kent and it is now officially part of Scotland, all the way to the core of the planet. I have done this by hanging a Lion Rampant flag in my garage and adopting a more agressive attitude when within the bounds of my property

I know, it is hard to change the habits of a nation who have been doing that for hunners and hunners of years :(

But I am trying to educate them. And I have found that locks & walls are surprisingly effective at keeping them away. Oh, and aggression

Unfortunately for them I cannot play the pipes. I do feel guilty that they are being denied something beautiful from Scotland. However the National Front over the back have less hair and more aggression than me - I have a feeling it would only be wasted on them

My sword is longer and shinier - but not bad

Sorry, total thread hijack... In a stupid mood and spotted an opportunity...
