Love a black bay bronze! that and an Oris carl brasher was the inspiration for me wanting a bronze watch... but i couldn't really afford either at the time and i have always fancied a seamster but couldn't really afford one... so i went about building my own bronze seamaster.
not the best photo but it is starting to age well, and keeps really good time! basically bought a cheap "scrap" omega movement off eBay and rebuilt it, whilst i was doing that i made the bronze case, crown and rotating bezel (access to a cnc mill really helped with this!)
some other watches i have are my daily ball engineer, great watches for the money IMO
thats it with the prototype case for the seamster, the ball is currently in bits for servicing so whilst it was in bits i bought this to use as a daily
"Casioak" in green its really grown on me and I'm not sure there is better value in the watch market currently! comfy and i have never once worried about it whatever i am doing whilst wearing it!

thanks! for me it was £75 well spent! i thought i would go for something a bit different to the standard black, my mate bought the grey not long after which was a cool choice too!

Thanks, i did take quite a few was going to write it up as a build thread somewhere but never got round to it!-Tom- said:Did you take any photos of the watch build? ... really impressive!

minimental said:From what i have read on some of the watch forums quality of those kits ranges hugely with no rhyme or reason to which/where is best, quite a cool mod though!
Looks fantastic, to think you’ve machined your own case is very impressive.-Tom- said:minimental said:Bombardino said:Treated my Tudor BBB to a new strap for Christmas, made from a 1932 Swiss ammo pouch. amazing stuffminimental said:Thanks! for me the machining was the least daunting bits, it was the bits i didn't even consider that took the time and thought! sourcing parts for the movement proved challenging, and a lot of time went into making the bezel rotate smoothly with the right click and only in one direction! the cad modelling took some perfecting too!

They look nice, but I believe only the newer Clifton models have an inhouse movement. For that kind of money, I'd be looking at Oris, Tag, definitely Longines, and even Hamilton or Tissot (Powermatic 80 models).mr wilks said:Ok , i'm not on any watch forums & i do appreciate the knowledge base shared on here so before i blow a stash on another watch want to ask for thoughts / opinion , , , , , , Baume & Mercier :? ive read through almost all the previous 100 pages with virtually zero mention of them![]()

While telling the time with that watch it would play havoc with my eyesight![]()
