Some stunners there though. 8)

Probably some fake ones too
(not that that matters except for the brands themselves missing out on some money that they have in abundance)

No fakes in the ones owned by me and my other half but then you wouldn't know that because you don't know us or anything about us. We both have good jobs, his is much better than mines because he's a games designer on a very successful games franchise. Cars, watches and whisky are our thing.

Nice watches and list of interests
Tell your husband he needs to hire an experienced vehicle artist (not the junior they're currently advertising for)

A G-shock just for something to knock around in

Thats a very nice G Shock 8)

I got this a few years ago for my 30'th. With my skinny wrists the smaller Omega's seem to work best

The ink mark is on my phones camera lens :x

Practicality and subtle good looks Seiko Kinetic 200m. My second kinetic and bought through Empire watches at a very reasonable price :)

Here are my current watches - I've had the Omegas for over thirty years, the most recent ia the Apple Watch which I got in June this year. :)

PS Forgive the focus on some of them!

Loving some of the watches on this thread - doesn't take much to instil watch envy in me!

Some brilliant watch collections, I love watches as well and have a good few of my own but not afraid to admit they are replicas as I'd find it hard to spend 6/7 grand on a watch that looks and feels similar to my reps.Actually have the funds to replace my fav omega planet ocean with genuine but couldn't do it....... Is that very wrong ....lol

Crikey! Didn't realise I'd joined a high rollers club!

Totally different end of the spectrum from me I'm afraid as I'm only on a very low income and spend my hard earned on my tiny house or my car.

I'm a big fan of Nixon Watches, as you get a lot for your money and I've been wearing them since my Snowboard/Mountain Bike days. Unfortunately none of mine are the Mechanical movement type, just the 'quartz' every day ones.

Firstly, my Nixon 48-20 Chrono in 'All gunmetal'

Second up is my Nixon Deck, in 'Midnight GT'

and last but probably my favourite, the Nixon Rover SS ii, in Satin Black & Industrial Green

At the moment, I can't bring myself to spend much more than a couple of hundred on a watch as I work in varied roles, anything from days in the office, days out on the road, in the middle of a field, or smashing things with big hammers in the workshop. However, if I fell over a big Pile of Money, I'd likely treat myself to an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 'Golf'. Absolutely love them. Or if the pile of money wasn't so big, then I'd probably go for a Hamilton X-Wind

What husband would that be then? first I've heard of this.

I assume your talking about the same company, well I assume you mean Edinburgh based? But my other half, he's not the one advertising for the jobs at his work.

But back on topic.....still some interesting pieces being put up. Those omegas could tell a story given the beating they've taken over the years.

You're right! They have been well used, over many years. The Seamaster Pro has travelled over 500,000 sea miles, worn during a cricket match at the North Pole and also worn whilst swimming across the equator on more than one occasion! Still runs well though, as do the others.
(I believe that watches are meant to be worn, not kept in a box, and cars are meant to be driven, not kept in a garage!)

In my eyes replica watches are a big no no, and I would never buy or put one on my wrist, however a well made homage watch is totally acceptable.

Wow! Some great memories right there but yes they are supposed to be worn and that's why Mikes always look like he's been through the mill with them by the time they come to be serviced. Actually he didn't want his sub being returned to 'new' when it went for a service but the jewellers decided it needed it. He wasn't too happy at the start but it's an excuse to batter it up again. There are some he's a bit more careful with but they all have 'battle scars'. You can tell when he's doing work on the car if there is access issues as the watch comes off and sits on top of the struts and then usually it's my job to get my hand in after all that.

Discuss ???

Always wondered why people feel so strongly on reps, not the pound shop ones obviously but well weighed and made ones, they look the same to 99% of the population and tell the time in a similar fashion ???
Always splits opinion lol

I agree with you, whilst all the watches I have posted in this thread are genuine I also have a lot of replicas with prices ranging from £50-£350 I also have one franken-watch that I currently have around £500 in but that may go up if I decide to mod it further with more genuine parts. For me I don't see it to be any different than sticking a set of replica wheels on your car, but I completely understand why some people don't like it

Each to their own, but id never buy a fake/rep.

If I had £100 to spend on a watch then id buy a Citizen or Seiko rather than a replica Omega or Rolex.

Like you say, they tell the time the same.

Or is it the fact that you want 99% of the population to think you've spent £3k on a real one?

I

I love the look and feel of a particular watch, don't really give a monkeys what people think,,99% of people where I'm from would think I was a tosser to pay 3k for a timepiece lol so that's not it.

Do people who spend thousands on watches want to be noticed as big spenders ???! Prob a generalisation and do rep wearers want to be like then, prob in some cases on both.....

For me its because I can't afford to buy all the watches I want as genuine, sometimes Ill but a rep and then upgrade to the gen later on... I don't really care what people think, I have a citizen eco drive and a few seikos so I appreciate them I also have some high end genuine watches, a couple of Omegas, Tag, Oris so if I want people to think I'm wearing an expensive watch I'll wear an actual expensive watch a lot of my replica's are from brands 90+% of the population haven't heard of, I just wear them because I like them.

I think I just got addicted to buying new watches I have over 50 at the moment but there's only so many Casios you can buy (I have 6 G-Shocks and another 6 other Casio watches) before you want something different. I could stick to genuine watches but for me there's a bit of saving involved in spending over £1k on a watch so I turned to replicas to fill the gap.... That said I haven't bought a fake watch for over 6 moths but have had quite a few mid range genuine watches come in during that time so maybe my tastes are changing. I'm currently trying to save for an Omega Speedmaster Proffesional which I'm hoping will be the last watch I think I need for a good while but no idea how long before I'll get bored of that and want more

Anyway enough of the debate here's a nice watch picture.

Vintage Omega Seamaster, I tried to date this on the Omega Heritage website http://www.omegawatches.com/planet-omega/heritage/vintage-details/14718/ and it looks like a 1949 model making it one of the first ones they ever produced which means it was one of the first watches ever made with a rubber gasket in the back to aid water resistance
