Can't decide on the plain black or with the orange markers

Definitely the orange markers! Gives the watch a bit more 'presence' and a great contrast against the black dial. DO IT

How do you find your CW watches?

I too have the C700 Grande Rapide and I also have the C8 MKii

really like them - at first i found the C60 bit clunky in comparison to my Seamaster 300 - but i know love the way it looks and its the watch i wear the most when I'm away with work.

I wore the C700 across europe this summer ( seemed fitting for a eurocar museum trip) and have changed the strap to the new bader strap which is really comfortable and has moved the watch up a notch.

The customer service is outstanding - if you get a chance well worth booking an appointment to see them at their showroom in the southeast usually an hour well spent.

The forum for them is one of the friendliest forums on the web and is very similar to here - Ive learnt quite a bit about watchmaking from it .

How are you finding yours ?

Ah yes, I thought that your strap looked slightly different in the picture, I have been toying with the idea of getting the metal band for it to give it a tad more presence but the black leather one looks classier IMO.

I have been meaning to take a trip to their showroom but I know I will end up buying another watch whilst I'm there!

My C700 has been playing up a little, it has been in to repair twice now, one of the times was kind of my fault though as it fell from my wrist after I burned myself cooking.. but other than that, I love it.

The C8 Pilot MKii is also a great watch, has a classic aerospace type face but it isn't as chunky as the C700 but has a bigger face.

I am liking their C9 Jumping hour at the moment. I will have to join up to the forum, I didn't realise they had one

My Speedmaster Pro Tintin. Future classic this one. This is the story behind the watch, which adds an extra dimension to it for me:

lovely - the red checkers are a nice touch. Do they make the dial look smaller though? I tried on a Speedmaster and it was too small for my wrist (think it was a 40mm). It just 'wore' small, even though I have other 40mm watches that look ok.

I've always loved Tag's since my ex sold them.
My dad bought me this ltd edition Grand Carrera.
I'll never part with it.

Thanks. Yeah the Speedmaster does wear smaller than its 42mm size. 1mm counts for the crown guard for a start, and the lug to lug length is only 48mm I think. I have a 6.5" wrist however so perfect size for me. I'm not too sure how the checks affect the illusion of size though, I think it probably makes the watch look smaller as the ring of colour almost acts like an inner bezel and draws the eye further in. But then next to my mates BLNR it doesn't exactly look small. Hard to say without me putting it on someone else's wrist, haha.

Have you tried any of the ceramic models? They're 44.25mm I think.

My dad just got the Spectre AT, it looks superb in person, the photos just don't do it justice. The 007 on the dial isn't that noticeable either which is good as it is my only quibble with the watch. The case back is awesome.

Cheers, it's a ltd edition run of 300 with the blue face.

How do you know which watch to wear? I have an everyday watch, a holiday/paddling watch and an evening watch/dress watch. I love the watch threads on this forum.

I generally stick to the same watch which makes having the rest a waste. Mike has a ward he wears when sleeping and a watch he will wear to work and then another he will change into when he gets home, however it depends on how he feels, what the weather is like and what he wearing as some watches coordinate better.

I have seen me hanging about for an extra half an hour whilst he changes watches and the straps to get the right combination. And men think that women are bad for making decisions on what to wear!

Nowt wrong with making sure it's right, last Friday seen me torn with watch to wear for our trip to Marrakech. Decided on the PO in the end as I will be in and out of the pool, glad I did as its so hot I am in and out of the pool.

I seem to remember Jeremy Clarkson sporting a PO in several of the Top Gear series - very nice watch, although the XL is a bit big IMHO.

Although a huge watch geek, I am yet to acquire sufficient funds to own my 'dream' pieces.

My CW and a rather 'accurate' Panerai homage...until I get the real thing after my wedding.

I have a Military MarkIV PAM 'homage' as well. Wanted to see how it fitted as I don't have any chance to try on a Panerai anywhere near me. It's not a fake, but some people react as if it is. Apologies that I can't run out and buy a $10,000 plus watch on a whim only to find it doesn't fit, or look good on my wrist...

Ha I know! You're near Lancs aren't you? I'm south Manchester so not a million miles away.

Although cheap, it has been completely reliable and I still enjoy wearing it :)

If the watch says marina militare on it it is technically a fake now even if it wasn't when it was made. Since the richemont group that owners Panerai trademarked the phrase for use on watches and started issuing law suits against other manufacturers using the term, which is basically the name of the Italian navy.

Not judging by the way I own a much more blatant PAM "homage" and yours is looks a really nice one from that photo. Will definitely get a proper Panerai at some point but saving for a speedmaster professional first

Interesting. I only got it last year so it could well technically be a fake.

Panerai is first on the list for me, after that I think it would have to be a Dark Side of the Moon. Looks awesome in the flesh.
